Exploit that is only possible with hardware flasher
Datecode 1A: ....If minverchk is 3.56, it has metldr and fails to downgrade to 3.55... but it is hackable because you can install 4.xx MFWs (requires Hardware Flashers).

I understand that if the minverchk is 3.56 it is not hackable, therefore you cannot install a CFW if you do not use a hardware flasher, or is the text talking about something else?

Again, hackable is not the same a downgradable (which is what the note states).

Thanks to BgToolset and PS3Xploit Flash Writer, any console with factory FW 3.56 or less is exploitable (meaning hackable) in order to install CFW. But if factory FW is 3.56, it won't be possible to downgrade to OFW 3.55.

The use of hardware flashers is just another way to get CFW installed, but it still is the same as before: factory FW 3.56 or lower.

The text says it clearly, in versions 1A and 1B if the minverchk is 3.56, it can only be hacked using hardware flashers unless minverchk is 3.55. So according to the text you can't exploit anything without using hardware flashers.

But, the text may not be updated, in fact where spkg keys are mentioned it says this:
"The very first (early) 4.xx CFWs were only installable over 3.55 because they were not having new spkg."

And below it shows 3.56 CEX/Retail spkg_hdr.tar content. So it is likely that the text mentioned where it is impossible to install the CFW if the minimum fw is 3.56 is not updated.

You are not understanding.

Again, the notes clearly states that if you are on factory FW 3.56 YOU CAN NOT DOWNGRADE.

Again, downgrade is one thing and hacking a FW is another thing, totally different.

If factory FW is 3.56 it is still HACKABLE, either by using a hardware flasher or by simply running an exploit in order to install CFW.

And that is a fact well known by the scene.

I'm reading and understanding well. If the minverchk is 3.56, it can only be hacked using hardware flashers, the text does not mention any exploit, "only using hardware flashers".
But probably as i already wrote, the page has not been updated to the new new 3.56 spkg keys.

No, you are confusing the possibility to exploit (a.k.a. hack) with downgrade. Now there are tools to exploit a console in order to install CFW IF factory FW is 3.56 or lower. The hardware flasher is a tool, but not the only tool to exploit a console.

If minverchk is 3.56 you CAN EXPLOIT your console with a hardware flasher (that flashes an already exploited FW) or by simply running a software exploit (BgToolset or PS3Xploit Flash Writer) that allows you to install a CFW as a normal FW update, as I've already said.

What you CAN NOT DO if minverchk is 3.56 is to downgrade.

And that is what the note on the wiki clearly says.

Curiously can under 3.60 still work with metldrpwn? I read the wiki about it.

No. Currently only PS3 fat and slim models (all 20xx, all 21xx and some 25xx models) support custom firmware.

All PS3 models -including 3xxx- support HEN, which offer features similar to CFW (play homebrews, backup games, etc).

Do you believe there is a secret FSM.2 via last keys of a superslim? Ik it ain't confirmed. There could potentially be one though.
