PS3 Getting 8002f957 while installing Evilnat 4.88.2

So I installed 4.88 OFW to play some online games and wanted to jailbreak it again. But it gives Data corrupted 8002f957 error everytime I try to install. So do you guys have any solutions for it? Do I need to downgrade from 4.88?

Are you trying to install a 4.88 CFW pup file directly from OFW 4.88 without patching the Flash memory first?

If not, you would need to provide more details about the console & what you did exactly to get that error.

If yes, the console being now on OFW, it automatically lost its jailbreak & to reacquire it, you need to use the PS3 Toolset from the PS3 browser & patch the Flash memory using the Flash memory manager tab.
Refer to the "jailbreak with bgtoolset" thread for details.

Either way downgrading should not be necessary, keeping in mind that you cannot downgrade anyway from OFW, only from CFW with QA enabled (or possibly from CFW with a 3.55 downgrader PUP when QA is disabled) .

@Nyphox if you manage to install CFW again, the next time that you need to install OFW 4.88 to play online, use one of the following dual boot firmwares. They let you reinstall CFW without having to patch the flash memory.

Download: Littlebalup's 4.88 Dual Boot firmware for PS3 already on CFW CEX (this installs OFW)

Download: HFW 4.88 Dual Boot firmware for PS3 already on CFW CEX (this installs HFW)
Same as Littlebalup's 4.88 DB, but with silk_webkit.sprx from 4.82 to allow install ps3xploit (HEN) or HAN.

No. That PUP installs an official firmware but patched to let you re-install CFW without having to patch dev_flash again using bgtools. You just have to install CFW from recovery or XMB.

Unlike Littlebalup's 4.88 DB, that particular firmware is patched to let you install HEN.
So technically it installs HFW. If you don't install HEN, it's a plain OFW.
