You need to replace font named "dr5 something" or similar. I can upload it tomorrow.
thanks for the helps, id like to learn more when u have some time;
but no worries for now, i realized that if i change the font i was using("aaaight" font from the xmb extras iso) to the "ps3 default" font= that the psbutton menu displays fine in those ps2 games,

then jus to try some other stuffs i tried the "nasalization" font from the same extras-iso and menus had similar kinda glitch cept that nothing showed up in the menu where letters should of been.
is it cause i didnt unpack the extras-iso or is it just that dr5 font thing that needs attention?
(&basically will it be possible to use the "aaaight" font with ps2 games in the future?)

Replace file SCE-PS3-DH-R-CGB.TTF with original one to fix your issue.
hi thanks, but can you clarify if the file that needs replacing' is found somewhere in dev flash?
(and maybe if i need to enable writing to dev flash for this manual file change? )

also, as i found out above, the original ps3 fonts worked without a problem on the ps2 /xmb menus,
so is this what you are explaining to do above?
or is your method a way to retain the custom font compatibility while on ps2 games in the ps3-xmb-menu ?

( if i can retain custom fonts, where would i find a font backup file to restore the current file in there that you mentioned? is it just the title that needs to be fixed or the actual file that needs to be replaced)

thanks for reading; i hope im not overcomplicating this lol

The ones on the XMB extras collection should work fine. The " Nasalisation " font looks quite good on a PS3.
