[1.7.1] GT5 Master Mod ::> mod author: @Nenkai

This mod adds several features to the game - mainly hidden ones and trust me, there are a lot. A lot of these features were used by Polyphony Digital to help developing the game.

* Pressing SELECT on the main menu brings up a debug menu.
* Holding R1 while going to the photo travel mode unlocks all locations.
* Holding R1 while openning all tickets/vouches runs in debug mode; no tickets are consumed.
* Pressing START in any event or license completes them.
* Pressing START in the Used Car Dealership on a car gives you the car for free.
* Pressing TRIANGLE in the Dealership on a car color gives you the car for free.
* Holding R1 while viewing a car in the garage does not make the car spin.
* Holding R1 while picking a car in arcade mode does not make the car spin.

Required - Gran Turismo 5 Update 2.11
The mod requires 2.11, if you're past that you'll have to uninstall and reinstall it again.
That happens because beyond 2.11, the newer updates patches some exploits and breaks the LAN Mode slightly. And there is no content updates are beyond that. So stay in GT5 update 2.11.

I been meaning to give this a try for months now, I'm just really lazy and you gotta go through a long process to set it all up.

I had wondered the same too. I know when that developer version of Forza Horizon 3 was accidentally leaked on PC it was hoped that people would port cars from the other games to it but I don't think it went anywhere maybe due to engine differences between versions. However that version is vastly more modable than any other Forza games but I have not followed progress with it for at least a year. Hopefully it could be done since GT5 and GT6 are still the same system and mostly file formats and engine.

All I could find today (it's in the same post, the modder had replied someone about) is that they are working in creating a mod like that for GT6. In GT6 there's also a hidden LAN menu that they are trying to add back. Probably the modders are beta testing yet.

Check the video below @Berion

@Lambada.

This is this link to a very good "Mod" of GT5 but it must be paid a subscription to "Mediafire", it is regrettable. Do not you have another site to deposit this "mod" and that I do not have to pay a subscription to this new site ?

@Algol You need paid subscription if You want download few files at once. You can still download one file, then another, then another and so on, for free. ;)

@Lambada I'm not a fan of GT6. GT5 was a lot better (yet still my favourite are GT1 and GT3 ^^). I'm just curious if cars added to GT6 can be imported to GT5 as probably they using the same 3d/2d/audio formats.

You like GT1 and GT3 better than GT2 and GT4? I guess you were not impressed by the massive car list? 2 and 4 were always my favorites.

Indeed, for me those are best GT's all the time. GT2 was great, especially that I love LeMans cars from Super GT class (my favourite was Nissan R390 from '91 (black & red one, blue is beautiful too but I have developed special settings for one track to quick money earning where even Escudo Pikes Peak is a cat toy ;p)) but makes graphics a little grainy, plus ugly music. It lost some special atmosphere from GT1 (PAL because only there music was best, and cars not stretched vertically). Oh, and the Hi-Fi mode. Worth to mention is for sure also sentiment as GT1 was first "cars manager" game ever created, cars so detailed and so many.

GT4 I never finished (I bet around half races, and get around quarter cars (I love collecting special cars in garage)). To much everything for me. And this is period when first Forza Motorsport arrived which was better IMO in every piece. Cars damages, all cars painting, putting decals etc.

GT5 and GT6 are not bad, but... Money system was set to online bullshit which not only I hate but I don't have time for it. And this 24 hour endurance is ridiculous (if my memory not fault me). B-Spec is ridiculous. Levelling system which locks races is ridiculous (this is what I hated in Forza Motorsport but here it is extremely annoying). So never finish both games and good to read that now I can easily cheat the game (using this mod) to finally collect all wanted by me cars without spending half of life on pointless races racing by garbage. ;p

The even releases of the Gran Turismo are the best for me. Since the tech there is always pushed far as much as possible. The Gran Turismo 4 is for me the first acceptable release to play nowadays. The graphics are acceptable with a nice colour palette (in comparison to the GT3). There is too much understeer unfortunately and the lack of the modern cars.

Both GT5 and GT6 pushed the graphics heavy. The GT6 does look beautiful (apart from the jaggied Morphological Antialiasing vs Quincunx + Temporal AA in the GT5). But they struggled with achieving the rock solid 60 fps frame rate. It is annoying to me as I am the cockpit cam driver, so the dips are frequent there. And the lack of the proper endurance races is the only thing I am keeping the GT5 just to race them sometimes.

Regarding the Master Mod. Is there any online lobby or is it just a LAN unlocker for the local play?

I'm not the mod author, I just wanted to share this information with you guys. I don't get it why lots of hacks and mods and private servers are not communicated here in the PSX-Place. For me this is the scene site, just like PS2-Scene was to PS2.
But anyway...

The mod is free, you don't need to pay. @Berion is right, download piece by piece, a little everyday and you won't need to spend any money downloading in Mediafire.

@Agrippa About LAN mode and online lobbies. I think they might have a lobby, probably they modded the LAN menu. I didn't install GT5 and the mod so I can't confirm. Maybe you are going to add and setup a DNS into the your ps3 network config just like Demon's Souls private server, pretty easy if this the same way.
Read their forums, the section Gran Turismo 5 and share to us what you get there or by playing it. :)

Just to everyone knows, I read that the best version of GT5 is the update 2.11. It's something related to the garage editor that you are more limited with it in the latest 2.17.
So stay in GT5 update 2.11.

Actually, the mod requires 2.11, if you're past that you'll have to uninstall and reinstall it again.

This is what has been occupying my time recently. Being able to buy all the cars at the dealerships is great;. IIRC the Formula Grand Turismo was only available at the online dealership.

Sounds like awesome mod. I wonder if would be possible to backport GT6 cars.
from what little i know seeing the modders talk, its way more likely thats the other way round, port from 5 to 6

as it is right now the GT6 lan on hardware requires psn connectivity due to it fetching something from psn that i dont know what it is, but it does work as is in RPCS3 afaik

Regarding the Master Mod. Is there any online lobby or is it just a LAN unlocker for the local play?
is more of a lan unlocker that always was in the game, lan tunneling is done though xlink kai

Hey, mod author here, glad to see the positive feedback.

Sounds like awesome mod. I wonder if would be possible to backport GT6 cars.

Not possible, unfortunately. Slightly different model format but enough not to be compatible.

The GT6's "Master Mod" was something i've baked in a few days just to have a few utilities that were already useful in GT5 and also exist in GT6.
There is a LAN Mode, but it is not fully functional. You can create a lobby, and others can join them, but they cannot interact with any of the buttons (Join Track etc.). They may see the owner of the lobby drive around the track through the track screen but they can't join it. The joiners get stuck in some sort of state.

Being logged to the PSN fixes the issue, oddly enough, even if you do it literally as you are stuck. However this scenario is incompatible with XLink Kai as you have no internet connectivity.
RPCS3 does not have said issue.

Correct. 2.11 and beyond patches some exploits and breaks the LAN Mode slightly. No content updates are beyond that.

You would be surprised to know that In fact, I have started an actual online server revival and that is one feature that works currently.

The actual GT6 Mod i've planned along with a few other people is still in the works but have been heavily slowed down due to the breakthrough of a server revival. My side was going to recreate all the seasonal events for GT6 to be playable offline, but the actual seasonals feature is also working, now.

Modder PoV of GT5/6's possibilities ahead since that somewhat fits here:
Both games are *very* moddable. Down to game code. PoDi uses a scripting language of their own since GT4 (!) called Adhoc that is rather close to python but also very advanced. These scripts come in a compiled form can be dissasembled with a tool i've made, however can't be compiled since that requires a complete understanding of the actual language + being able to properly generate the appropriate bytecode. They deal with it down to stack, instructions, and other related stuff. But to give a taste of what's possible, you could very well run GT5 using GT6's engine. They are entirely responsible for the game's logic, UI, etc.
Aside from that, additional/custom events are possible, sounds & engines can be edited, cars can be edited, added (through models aren't figured out so cars cannot be completely added as of now), and a lot of other things I don't have on top of my mind.

I hope that answers some of the questions & potential ones.

Welcome to our community @Nenkai !
Thanks for your info related to GT projects.
You will be always welcome to give some news of what you are working in this place.

My best regards.

So does that mean people are currently looking into it? I would seriously love to see additional high quality cars added that replace the GT4 models. Like for instance, if somebody was able to figure it out and port over the Forza 4 Delorean to replace the PS2 model. Something like that would be amazing with fully rendered interiors.

Connecting the console to the PC for the LAN tunneling is a little bit complicated and often not convenient. Is there any way to make an online server replacement?

Nevertheless it's a great job you have done! Keep up the good work!

Right now, no, unfortunately, I have no personal experience into models to start figuring it out.

Yes, like said previously, this is being worked on. Requires PSN connectivity however.
