PS3 Gran Turismo 5 - Master Mod [Online multiplayer is back!]

@Nenkai, I encountered some weirdness with the used car dealership, don't know if they're related to the mod or not...

1. A brand new Bugatti Veyron with 0 km on the odometer and the same price (2 million credits) as a new one, what a ripoff. :)

2. A race-modded car, one of the new ones in the mod (not one of the original 17).

Nothing was changed on anything related to the used car dealership.

Nice job, but the photo mode doesn't work.
Gotta be more specific.

Gotta be more specific.
Entering the race replay, and then into the photo mode, instead of the route, you can see lakes and various graphic artifacts. The photo mode is completely useless. Mod is properly installed (update 2.11).

What a nightmare that was. 3-4 hours at Monza, 4-5 hours at Nurburgring and Suzuka each, and all I got to show for it are 3 lousy bronzes. No platium medal for me. :( It would also had been nice to get the huge credit/XP bonus, too - and with the master mod plus a little manipulation of the PS3's date (to ensure the 200% login bonus) it would have been double. Oh, well.

GT5 and GT6 are not bad, but... Money system was set to online bullshit which not only I hate but I don't have time for it. And this 24 hour endurance is ridiculous (if my memory not fault me). B-Spec is ridiculous. Levelling system which locks races is ridiculous (this is what I hated in Forza Motorsport but here it is extremely annoying). So never finish both games and good to read that now I can easily cheat the game (using this mod) to finally collect all wanted by me cars without spending half of life on pointless races racing by garbage. ;p

Well, back in the day the best way to get XP and money was via seasonals. So I tried using the race editor to recreate one, but the editor is limited and incomplete. Then I stumbled onto this...https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/resurrection-of-seasonal-events-kinda.388603/

That got me thinking. It is possible to reasonably recreate these events in Arcade mode, using the Favorite Opponents option in the Secret Menu, to customize the grid. (This also affects GT mode, strangely.) It will also be neccessary to buy your car in GT mode and add it to your Favorites list, so you can tune it in Arcade mode. There are some drawbacks to this, however.

a. The debug menu only lets you add credits in increments of 300,000. XP is also added incrementally, the amount depends on what level you are. Some math and rounding will be needed.
b. Cars may not be tuned exactly the same as they were in the original event.
c. No way to force the AI to use a certain tire type. If the event allows Sports Softs, but the AI is using Sports Hards, you should use the hards.
d. Seasonals were essentially overtaking challenges, with you in 12th place (out of 12) against a spread-out field. Arcade mode puts you 12th out of 16, in a normal rolling start. Perhaps you should let the AI cars get a head start?
e. Some events featured tracks made with the course creator. There's no way to recreate the track, so either randomly generate one, or pick a PS2-only one.

Still, this is a much better alternative than mindless grinding or flat-out cheating. Here is a detailed list of GT5 seasonals...

You won't be able to remove any video from the game data unless you properly edit the game's file system. Even if you do so, that will most likely just crash the game once it needs it. That's just an assumption however.

I doubt this will help you with your modding, @Nenkai, but maybe someone with shrinking HDD space will find this useful.

Though trial and error I have figured out what each movie file is.

tv_451 (~935 MB) - Intro
tv_452 (~254 MB) - Short ending
tv_456 (~1.3 GB) - Long ending

If you disable the intro from the options menu, you can delete these and replace them with dummy files. If you want to watch them again, play the game from disc, or watch them on YouTube.

The other files are photo locations; you can delete them and replace them with dummy files. Of course, Photo Travel won't work (no freeze, though), and the sequences won't play on the main menu. Again, play the game from disc if you want these.

There are about 7.7 gigs worth of movies; coupled with the DATA0000.PKG used with the initial installation and the PS3UDAT.PUP, you can delete around 10 gigs, which is nearly half of a GT5 HDD install.

Finally got around to trying this! Awesome mod! Thanks whoever put all the work into this. Now if I can just figure out these stupid HD issues i'm having on my slim, i'll get it all re-installed and put back on there.
