PS3 Group structure in Game Data folder?

Hello,
I would like to put my Game Data files into groups or folders, like you can do with save game data (last picture) and to display them cleaner in the XMB. Is that possible, because I can't press Square to put them in groups, but does a XMB Mod maybe exist?

I couldn't find a way to put the files into groups, I think it's not possible.

To make the folder look a little bit cleaner, I just installed the base game files and after that the updates of the specific game. After that I used a Param.Sfo Editor to edit the titles to make it look more consistent. With the param.sfo Editor you need to edit / rename every single (!) title of the specific param.sfo file.

The folder looks now pretty clean, even without the group function. :)

Topic solved.

But, when booting those specific games, isn't the PS3 going to search for those "Game Data" utilities based on how they were originally named.

I know that homebrews and executables for games can be sorted via album on the main panel of the "Game" tab but I don't think it will work from the "Game Data Utility" folder unless you re-code the pathings in a couple .xml files or more.

i.e. you would have to create extra paths inside of Game Data Utility based on how you would like to sort each app's game data.

Which again, I think it would mess up the PS3's chance of finding "said" Data for whatever game data you've indexed, if renaming params alone doesnt mess it up as well?

Game Data Utility should be left as is

Those utilities are created by whatever game put those files there, so i think the game is going to search for whatever data it is coded to write to that folder if not already there?

In other words, it might make duplicate data of original name because it cant find the data that you renamed... just a hypothesis, I'm not sure?

Games looking for GameID, they don't care about PARAM.SFO until want to overwrite it or displaying in game somewhere (saves case, not cache case of course). IMO it is totally safe.

Yes, as of now I played several hours of MGS 4 where I edited the PARAM.SFO of the 8GB game data file and I didn't have any problems at all.
