PS3 HAN Enabler 4.86 issues

@JohnCono if i remember correctly debug pkgs are used if you take a disc, rip it, then cfw2ofw convert to folder and finally folder to pkg. these do not need resigning. also dont need to resign offical pkgs...like game updates and dlc. so if you wanted to reinstall and reactivate games you bought on psn without redownloading again then those would work too. i know i have made a pkg with the raf instead of using act/raf copier but that would not work with this method i believe.
But i mean with the user "HAN Enabler" we can use HAN like normally was? or there is some special steps?

i think everything will work normally but you may have some pkgs that where resigned that may not install after using han486.html to enable han.

the pkgs can be extracted on pc and remade if they were signed and didnt have to be.

i may wrong on this part but...i think a pkg that installs a picture or simple file on the hdd may work if made correctly but you may have to rebuild database for some things to show up.

Oh, that's bad news, i thought with han486.html everything will be like han 4.85, i don't wanna try something that maybe mess up my system, i never want to use some repacking or packing tools, just get the pkg and rap, resign, install and done. I hope the devs update HAN to 4.86, i know it's less powerful than HEN but for me HAN is perfect.

if i remember correctly debug pkgs of ps3 disc games work even without han enabed and even if you install ofw. so if you only have discs han would let you run the game from hdd without even enabling han if make a pkg from it. (this needs an update to work so some disc games cant be backed up this way)
 
i think i originally found han because my first ps3 was a superslim and i just wanted to install games updates for my disc games. so it is usefull...if you only wanted to play disc and hdd dies you wont have to redownload gigs and gigs of updates.

Yep, but i never did that, just get the pkg and rap and if i can get a only-disk game welp i get it, that was a cfw2ofw method as far as i remember but you have to transfer all the games you plan to use because is transfer the entire hdd of a ps3 to your ps3.
 
That HAN enabler script works exactly the same way as the other ones, I just omitted the HAN pkg patches because there is no reason why you should be resigning pkgs for HAN, also it allows debug pkg installation which is more useful IMO. It just saves time.

Edit: Regardless, I don't think anybody should be using HAN when HEN is a thing.

Eu sei como mexer com han, mas o que parece que vão desar somente Hem ... então sou forçado a ir pro Hem,mas pergunta eu deixei salva as licença do Han, mudando para Hem preciso ativar licença de novo ou posso usar as mesma que usava han?

Thanks for answering and for the file, i don't get the part of the han pkg patches, i mean with your file we can use HAN like always or there more steps or less? i never used debug pkg and always resigned the files, i know it takes time but HAN with that method is perfect for me, also i know HEN is more powerful but HAN is all i need, i don't like CFW.

There's no extra steps, it's the same HAN as before, except no need to resign pkgs. The only thing is that if you don't know how to add it to the XMB (category_game.xml) then you'll need to wait for someone to post that file.

Resigning the pkgs may have worked for you but there was a point in time where the resigner was corrupting some games because of a bug. habib fixed it quickly but the point I'm trying to make is that resigning the pkgs doesn't make any difference and can sometimes be worse than just installing the original debug pkg.
 
ive replaced the offline enabler from unofficial han toolbox 0.8.1 with this script and it appears to work. i will look into catagory_game.xml later tonight.

im going to try some psn backups now that i found my psn account info for this ps3 also.

HEN is more complex than HAN allows to install some CFW in non CFW compatible consoles, honestly idk about the licenses, i created a new user and then installed HEN then get .raps, resigned with the new user and was able to use with HEN, personally i reset to default my console to delete HEN, im empty now.
Also a dev @esc0rtd3w told me he will test HAN in 4.86, so wait a little man. :smile new:

cool. quick question as two or three people have the same thing...am i supposed to have apphome on xmb in the new HEN?

thanks i always used han to install hen offline.

One doubt, will the extra tools be updated for use in 4.86?

The other tools like act / idps dump work in 4.86?
