HAN Toolbox

PS3 HAN Toolbox v0.14 Unofficial

I have installed the latest HEN Toolbox, then your HAN Toolbox 0.12 (which was not finished seeing, normal). It said that I should enable the HEN Toolbox in the flash, which I didn't do, I restarted the console and the HAN Toolbox appeared under the last HEN options, and inside the HEN Toolbox I found Firmware Settings>HAN Toolbox>Game Category to see it outside from the HEN Toolbox. Even though I did it, it told me that 0 files were moved, so I think it did nothing, but, I already have the HAN Toolbox on the XBM as soon as I turn it on and it loads the HAN offline with no problems. I even had to lower the game_category separately, I don't know why, but now it works as I wanted. Thanks again.
Wait. It turns HAN On fine? If you'd like to test it all on 4.89 with HEN, I can put on the page it works or not for 4.89 (of course, you don't have to, I just thought on this right now since you're using on 4.89). At least it seems I can already say it enables HAN fine (I tried to put it future-proof, but that only works if nothing changed since 4.88 - and on the HAN Enabler part it seems it didn't). So thank you already! Btw, what option to enable HAN did you use? The old HAN Enabler or the new partial enabler?

So people understand the situation with HAN and 4.89, there's an issue in official 4.89 with PKG installations. The PKG manager we used to install until now for HEN/HAN does not work anymore on OFW/HFW without HEN enabled.

So for the time being, there's no official HAN update to bring support to 4.89, at least not until we can provide an alternative solution for users to install packages locally.

Those of you wishing to deploy PKG files should use HEN for the time being to do it.

For those who already have their apps and games installed, you guys also have the option to use OFW 4.89 and the PS3 Toolset in the browser to apply the HAN patches and launch your resigned apps/games, it's not as quick as a XMB link but at least it provides an alternative and it works on pure OFW.

Hi! They're still trying to stop exploitation? Or it was just a normal thing they had to do because of something they wanted to do on the update and it just happened to mess with that?

No, nothing like that.

We believe the issue to be related to the layout issues previously described for HEN.

To apply their PSN registration/authentication changes S#ny recompiled some VSH modules and their related rco files and modified the layouts, they were careless about it too as it seems to have impacted certain XMB features on OFW, it does not seem to bother them too much, one may wonder if they will even release a 4.90 to address the mess they made.

Until 4.89 we used to deploy 4.84 DEX files (sprx and rcos) to provide the PKG Manager to HAN users however the layouts having changed, it's quite likely that the 4.84 rco files are no longer valid and cause the issue we experience.

I have not had time to research or test this stuff myself, esc0 has been working solo on this, he tried various things and found a compromise for HEN but not for HAN.
We are meant to look into this together at some point, there are things we haven't tested yet and there's always the option to create a new ROP tool, however it's good to keep in mind that HAN is not exactly a priority so it rarely comes first whenever we have to choose between working on one thing or another.

I haven't tried all the options(I'll try some more later), but, if I tell you that the option is HAN Toolbox 0.12 Unofficial>Offline HAN Enabler works without problems, and I didn't have to make any changes to the game_category, just yes, I had to use HEN to access the PKG file manager in order to install the HAN Toolbox.

Interestingly, when I tried to do it a while ago, I installed HEN, and I got to alter something in dev_flash, like a patch if I remember correctly, to activate the HEN Toolbox, after that, I installed your HAN Toolbox, and BOOM, it corrupted the XMB, every time I turned on the console, selected the user, and started loading the XMB, something happened to the console (I don't remember if it froze or had a black screen), and I had to reinstall HFW.

Sorry for the bad English, I use Google translate.

The changelog says:

Userland Memory Manager v1.2
* added memory patching preset options for HAN & Debug pkg
* added memory patching through prepared files (using JSON syntax)
* added memory dumping options per executable file segments or through ranges
* added testing for unallocated memory before reading any offset to avoid potential crashes, in a next update UME Strict mode will be removed entirely

But: how can I enable the HAN patch to launch the signed games?

EDIT: I found it. Thanks again.

Just to put here, after I just found a thread (https://www.psx-place.com/threads/4-89-available.37753/) with a link to experimental (test4-final) HAN files for 4.89 (https://ps3xploit.me/han/test/etHANol-v3.0.6-test4-final.zip), if the offset values actually need no change at all like they didn't on that ZIP, then the future-proof idea of the toolbox worked well enough and nothing needs to be updated --> the toolbox is 100% compatible with FW 4.89. Nothing changed at all (if the values on the experimental test are all correct). Useful for who uses the toolbox on HEN on 4.89 or whoever installs the experimental HAN or something (4k+ downloads on the latest version released 1.5 years ago, so...).

this mod is working on 4.90 hen, but is in russian ...
Thank you for the reminder xD. I just released a new updated version of the toolbox. I didn't test it, but it should work. If you or anyone tests it and anything is not working, please tell me and I'll fix it.

Edw590 updated HAN Toolbox with a new update entry:

HAN Toolbox v0.14 Unofficial

- Added support for HFW/CFW 4.80 CEX and older, as long as needed values don't change on older versions.
- Corrected 3 pictures not working after v0.13.
- Changed all **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) references to ps3xploit.me (the current official domain).
- Hopefully corrected all tools that weren't working on any FW version, if any wasn't (new "technique" applied everywhere, both on CEX and DEX tools. That includes adding to DEX the past and future-proof support that I added to the CEX tools).

Read the rest of this update entry...

Tested the toolbox now (on dear OFW 4.82 xD). If the offsets I used are all correct (2 were not on the website, ipsomething_addr1 and 2 or something like that, and I used the previous ones), the toolbox should be fully working. This time I didn't go manual trying to optimize the list of offsets - JS minifiers are wonderful.

Still, it seems the PS3 can no longer read this page: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Edw590/HAN-Toolbox/master/UPDATES.txt (the raw.githubusercontent.com domain). So no updates checking nor the What's New on Browser thing anymore (this thing: https://edw590.github.io/Console-news-on-consoles/PSX_Place/PS3/news_page_code.html), since those 2 are hosted on GitHub and I used that domain because it worked. I might not fix that. Would need a public server. For now mine is only private (I don't upgrade the OS for years... bad security). I could copy the What's New code into the PS3 in case it fits all in the 16k characters, but it still gets the news from GitHub anyway so no deal (would show 0 news).

But at least all the rest should work just fine.

On webMAN MOD I use links that download content from github.com or raw.githubusercontent.com without issues.
The error 80710A06 is thrown downloading from github only when DEX components are used (e.g VSH.self from DEX)

What if the PS3 I'm using is one on CEX OFW 4.82 with HAN ahahah. If you can access that thing... do you know if the SSL certificates are updated between FW versions? (and so 4.82 ones would be outdated because I can't access that link I said). from github.com I can't since years ago, so I've always been using the raw one. by chance are you not ignoring SSL warnings in code? because on the browser I can't ignore anything. doesn't work and nothing to do about it - that I know of at least?

EDIT: both Firefox 3.6.28 and Safari 4.0.5 (the ones I use to test the PS3 pages and that I saw being mentioned by devs here IIRC) can't open the link I sent before. Or github.com. Safari just says it can't establish a secure connection, but Firefox is more specific: "Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).". Not sure if it's the same problem with the PS3 or if it's the certificates or what is the problem. Maybe they're updating them each FW version and you have updated ones?

The links found in the update section of webMAN Setup work fine on VSH CEX mode.
If I recall correctly the SSL certificates were updated in a recent FW version. I'm not sure which one due I'm using the latest FW version.

Anyway the update links on XMB are included only for convenience. If the user cannot use them, all the installers and resources are available on Github which only works correctly from PC or smartphone/tablet.

@Edw590 @aldostools Tested on official hen 3.2.2 : pkg installed but showing nothing in xmb. Tested on nikolaevich hen 3.3 : installed, accesible but no links at all, shows empty space at the end of the files tree.
hfw 4.90.1 both tests.
