IMHO HDL BATCH Is byfar the best tool there is in terms of writing games to a PS2 HDD.

I get speeds of 1 Gbps (reading from my SMB drive) and it writes to the PS2 HDD via USB3 at 100MB/s.

Just dont install ZSO files, as I have had tons of issue with ZSO games not loading whereas the ISO games work fine.

The problem stems from hdl_dump (HDL Batch Installer is basically a frontend to that along with few tools).
Basically hdl_dump will attempt to trim the installed ZSO file if the sizes isn't a multiple of 2048 bytes which results corrupted installations.
You have to pad the ZSO files before you installing it (Danixu tools can do that or use hex editor to pad it manually).

I had previously installed games via oplm and recently aquired more an added them via network with hdlbatch and none of the games launch that were added just color flashes then black screen. Using opl 1.2.0.5 beta.

The next update will feature:

  • Icons! install queue will add disc icons for the games, showing their disc type. (purple: CD, silver: dvd, golden: dvd9)
the same icons will be shown on the installed game list

  • Some of the context menus are also getting icons:

And the most interesting feature of the following update:

"The specified network resource or device is no longer available."

"A device which does not exist was specified."

Do both of these errors occur more on as an SSD Problem, or more like a cable-related one?

EDIT:

I FOUND OUT IT'S A CABLE ONE. I placed the cable on a better location and now it's gone.

Thank you for this tool. It's very easy to use.
