PS3 [HELP] Can not open games in MMCM after update to 4.88

Hi! I no longer can load any games in MMCM after update to 4.88.

I saw some tutorials on Youtube, that suggest me to downgrade the PS firmware to previous version (4.75).

I know it can't be done, so I look for another solution. A tutorial on Youtube also suggest me to install 4.89 HFW version first, in order to downgrade my PS firmware. So I did update to 4.89 HFW. But I cann't downgrade after that.

Please help me if anyone have other solution, for downgrading my firmware or fixing my MMCM games too.

I just play PS3 for few months obviously. So any kind of help would be appreciated.

HFW is like OFW with a minor patch to allow HEN installation.

To play homebrews on HFW you have to install HEN and enable it before launch mmCM. Once HEN is enabled it remains activated until you reboot or disable CFW syscalls.

If your console is a phat or slim 20xx, 21xx or 25xx with min firmware version 3.56 or lower, follow what @Timbo9876 said.

What ps3 model do you have? If your model is CFW compatible then you need to install Evilnat 4.89. Once this is done your be able to toggle QA flags and downgrade to any lower CFW you desire.

Hi, i don't know what model I have. Even I've try to find the tutorials on YouTube.

But right now, I installed 4.89 HFW. Plan to downgrade it to 4.88 so I can install HEN, but the ps3xploit's site is still down.

Thanks, I would like to do.

I've considering to toggle QA flags, as Timbo said. But it will need to install softare called "Rebug". Sadly, my MMCM cann't be opened to install rebug from file manager.

@cherealpsx To find your model number, check the back of the console. It begins with CECH e.g. CECHL03 or CECH-2503A. If it's a fat model, it is guaranteed to support CFW but it's worth noting your model number. Some slims are CFW compatible: CECH-20xxx and 21xxx models are, with some 25xxx being compatible and some not, and all 30xxx being uncompatible with CFW. All CECH-4xxxx super-slim models are likewise only HEN compatible.

If your console turns out to be only HEN compatible, since you cannot install CFW it ultimately means that you cannot downgrade your firmware version after enabling the QA flag.

You haven't said if your console is CFW compatible or not.

If your console is a superslim or a slim 3xxx or a 25xx with min fw version 3.60 or later, you cannot install CFW Evilnat 4.89 as Timbo said. For these you need to install HEN from http://ps3xploit.me

With HEN installed you will be able to launch multiMAN or any other homebrew that don't require LV1 patches to work.

If your console IS a phat model or a slim that is CFW compatible, you first have to patch the flash memory allow CFW installation. To do that you need to go to https://** ** www.ps3xploit.net > ... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com/bgtoolset

The problem is that at this moment the domain for bgtoolset was disabled illegally by the host, and you need to set the following custom DNS addresses in Network setup to get access to that domain:
Primary DNS173.245.59.128
Secondary DNS173.245.58.122
Once you have patched your flash using bgtoolset, you should reboot and your console will able to install CFW Evilnat 4.89 from XMB.

Once you are on CFW Evilnat 4.89, enable the QA Flags from Network > Custom Firmware Tools menu and you will be able to install any firmware version. Note that if you install OFW or HFW again you will lose the ability to install CFW and you have to patch your console again, except if you installed OFW 3.55 or lower.
