PS3 Help with Clean Installation of Evilnat

I want to do a clean install of the CFW on my CECHA00 PS3. The problem is that someone did that for me, and i am a noob.
They gave me like a cd with a code, and they flashed the memory (they said).
Which are the correct steps?
Do i need to format the drive first? And then? Or i could just use "restore ps3" on the ps3 menù?
Thank you all in advance

EDIT: i was thinking that the problem was software. Now everytime i turn my console on, it start blinking red. No other color blinks before that. It happens even in the morning, when i just power it on by the rear switch, so it's not overheating. Sometimes it stays fixed red for some minutes and then start blinking, and sometimes just after i press the rear switch.
What could it be?

To restore system software to its default settings:
  1. Select Settings, then scroll down and select System Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Restore PS3 System.
  3. Select Yes to confirm.
  4. Choose either Quick Format or Full Format.
  5. Choose Yes on the confirmation.
  6. Once done, your PS3 will be returned to factory settings.
To reinstall the firmware from XMB:
  1. Copy the PUP of CFW firmware to an USB device formatted as FAT32 MBR to X:\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP
  2. Select Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media
  3. Follow the instructions and wait to reboot.
Make sure that the PUP is the same version or higher than the version currently installed.

It's recommended that you verify the md5 of the PUP to verify that it is the correct file.

If the CFW fails to install from XMB, go to Recovery Menu:
  1. Hold the power button down, to completely turn off your console.
  2. Keep holding the power button down until you hear a beep followed by 2 consecutive beeps.
  3. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB.
  4. Press the PS button and the Recovery menu will pop up.
  5. Use System Update and follow the instructions on screen.

Thank's Aldo. I got something worse, btw. Basically, i was moving a file with Filezilla, on webman, through wi-fi. During the transfer, ps3 shut off blinking red constantly. I managed to turn it on again, and Webman was gone! That happened again after 15 minutes. Then again after 3 minutes. And that is what is happening now:

Based on this, could i have bricked it? Chances are for this, or something with psu. Temps were fine, and there is no yellow light. Thank you
