HEN failure restart ps3 and retr

Hello Homebrew members,

Today I installed HEN and went to the page and clicked **Initialize HEN installer** which went successful but when I click on **Install HEN** it shows the following error: **HEN failure restart ps3 and retry**

Checkmemory 00000000000
NaN

I restarted my PS3 but the same error appears (I also tried the alternative way).

The alternative way shows the following error: You must install hybrid firmware before installing HEN.

I also sometimes get the following error with the alternative way: Exploit initialization failed!

Any idea how I can make it work ?
 
Follow the instructions & it will work.
You cannot install HEN on top of OFW 4.83+, you must first install a HFW PUP (or manually replace the silk_webkit.sprx file in /dev_flash with a 4.82 version).
If you don't have HFW installed, you will get a "NaN" error when trying to fire a HEN tool.

I got it up and running by installing it into safe mode.

I am trying to run PS2 games now on Multiman but unfortunately I can't get it working.
There is an option though :O

With PS3HEN you cannot use the PS2 emulator with mounted disc images, you can only use the ps2 classics method iirc.
 
That's unfortunate, I was hoping that I could rip all my PS2 games so I could throw the discs away haha. Thanks for the information !

I have one of the first PS3 models that can still run PS2 discs.

Then why use HEN? Install CFW as it has many more features and can play PS3 games in ISO format.
 
Because I have really no idea what I am doing xD I will lookup some tutorials later about CFW, thanks for all your help I really appreciate that !
 
It is easy to do. Once you dump your system use a tool to validate the dump. Install 4.88 twice to avoid a ROS error. If it does pop up with am error post here prior to flashing.

FYI
Installing OFW twice before flashing is no longer a prerequisite with the PS3 Toolset as it is designed never to corrupt a ROS region while in Strict Mode, using standard 7Mb no-fsm patch files, the same ones we use for hardware flashing.
Double fw installation was only a prerequisite for the old Flash Writer tools which used non standard 3Mb patch files that could end up corrupting the unused ROS region in specific conditions.
Having said that you can still do a double fw installation if you want to, it is harmless.

I have HEN installed now but I can't really find a YouTube video of how to upgrade from HEN to CFW.
Can I just follow a CFW installation on YouTube and install it over HEN or is that a no go ?

Refer to the 'jailbreak with the bgtoolset" thread.
You can use the PS3 Toolset & patch the Flash memory on top of HFW, just don't enable HEN.
 
So if I am correct I can just follow this tutorial
and everything should work afterwards even though I already have HEN installed ? I just shouldn't activate HEN while going through the process.

so...im on 4.89 rn does that mean it wont work for me? ive tried all 3 ways of installing hen on the new site and ive used 2 different hdd still doesnt work for me it does sometimes initialize correctly tho also tried the dns thing since i want cfw (im on slim CECH-2001A) but that didnt work either sadly..never used hen before and i didnt know the site was fucked up when i updated to 4.89 saturday night when i got the ps3 :/
 
Got the same error with my PS3 Super Slim, with the old HDD Hen wouldnt even enable and freez, with the new (smaller) HDD i get NAN checkMemory 0000000000. I just dont know what i should do anymore, installed OFW then back to HFW, formattet the drives via my PC and still just errors with the super slim
 
NaN means that hfw is not installed. install it then hen. there are two more installers HERE on my webpage. they are different methods but install the same hen. autohen is 4.90 only. alternae is 4.82+.
