HFW 4.88 Brick my console

Forum Noob

Translation from Spanish using Google translate:
I have a PS3 ofw 4.88 try to install the latest hfw to be able to then install HEN, when loading the update to 100% it turns off as when it goes into recovery to finish installing, in this case the screen went black for a long time little while. I turned it off and nothing, when I turn it on it stays on but it doesn't give an image and I can't enter recovery mode. Only on, to turn it off I have to keep the button pressed. What is the possible problem? I don't know if it's a brick, because apparently in a brick it always turns off, in this case it doesn't turn off.

HFW is OFW, it cannot brick the console.

HEN is a runtime exploit, it doesn't make any changes to CoreOS and consequently it cannot brick your console as it leaves the lowest levels of the OS and the recovery environment untouched.

However using certain homebrew features made specifically for CFW and incompatible with HEN can brick a console running on HEN, such features can be found in homebrews like ccapi or possibly SEN enabler.

If you never managed to install HFW and HEN in the first place then it's possible that the problem is caused either by hardware related issues including with the internal HDD or simply with your USB device/PUP file integrity.

Should I format the drive and reinstall HFW from recovery mode?

If you are 100% sure about your USB setup and pup file integrity, it would be the next logical thing to try, you can just use a spare HDD if there is data you don't wanna lose on the current HDD.

Thanks, I'm trying this method. I hope there is no problem with flash memory or rsx

Soldering skills and uart adaptor to USB it may be easier to identify brick or glod problems. In your case look as brick. If no sound 2 beeps as it should go recovery is most likely brick, if you were able to hear 2x beep and no display then there was rsx issues. Unless is overheating, let it cool down and try again without hdd.

Yes, I can hear two beeps but there is no picture. A Reballing should fix it if it is the RSX?

No reball until uart diag, when you have time to investigate just catching errors and running bringup command twice you get full log if SB debugging is reaching.
When this unit was last time maintained?

I have never done maintenance
I will wait for the diagnosis of the technician with that case. Thanks for his attention.
