Thanks @Coro that clarifies things.

@esc0rtd3w so the reddit guy gave me the wrong file huh? What do I do if my PS3 still doesn't recognize the littlebalup in recovery mode?

If it doesn't show up in recovery, try a different USB drive and make sure it's formatted to fat32.

EDIT: also try a diff usb port and check them for physical damage. Make sure usb shows up in XMB menu

Hi everyone,

Im new here and to using ps3s.

I used hfw 4.89.1 on my cech4012c and it installed flawlessly. thanks for this.

now my problem is for my cech4200b. got a 8002F1F9 error. will you guys release a NOBT variant for this hfw?

Hi everyone, i want to jailbreak my ps3 ultra slim but he doesn't work (I started the jailbreak.), my ps3 said their have no update, i try with a another version, he recognized the version (4.88.1). So, if there is someone who would know how to fix it, it would be with great pleasure. thank you.

you have to install it in recovery mode. You probably have an eMMC console.

make sure the MD5 is 1746FD1A7BA9F6DBB9428C9C64B54B0A after you copy to flash drive. Also try both usb ports. If all that is verified, it will install. Also try OFW from Sony, then try it again. Make sure OFW installs in recovery mode.

It should work

EDIT: eMMC is basically NAND on superslim models with 12GB flash, that can run without HDD

I try this, and thank you, that work, i was so happy lol (also i don't have a eMMC console beacause i have an hdd in my console)
 
I have downloaded all the required software, made sure my USB drive is Fat32, Checked the MD5 and still, I cannot get my system to download the new System update. I have a Ps3 super slim, is this the problem?

HERE is my pup install guide. it has some troubleshooting tips.
 
Guys, 4.88.2 is still undecided in my opinion. There are lots of freezes and lags. Reverting to 4.88.1 makes more sense to me. Thank you.
 
Mis-Guided Somone!: HELP. Not fully tho:

I told somebody to follow MrMario's Ps3HEN guide. But I just gave them the video that guides how to downlaod and install the hen installer from ps3xploit.me:

And they only followed the part where they downloaded and isntalled HEN. Cause I only gave them that video.

And apparently it's installed.

But they didn't update the Ps3 with the latest HFW prior(the usb update):

So, they pretty much did the ps3 hen install step early…

Can they, and should they, follow the guide and update the Ps3? Or is installing HEN early going to be an issue?

I am assuming you mean 4.89.1. There is only one official version, as the others made, some had problems.

HEN is compatible with 4.84 - 4.89, so if your friend was on an older firmware, the same HEN installer will work and appear the same. He can simply update his HFW and reinstall HEN if he wants to be on latest firmware.
 
Hey guy just joined today as i got my first ps3 ever... at the age of 36. I already want to thank you guys for all your effort as i ve been reading arround the forum and it seem you ve quite a lot for the PS community.

Having this said, i wonder what should i do while instaling HEN if the MD5s don t match. I tried downloading from all 3 mirrors and i get d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e as MD5. Thanks in advance =)
