The update is for PyPS3checker which is an excellent tool to check/verify PS3 flash dumps. The update is to add the integrity hashes for 4.87 firmwares.

The flash writer tool has been superseded by the Flash Memory Manager tool as part of the PS3 Toolset - which is still to be updated to support 4.87 OFW/HFW.

You already asked and already got the answer. The expected date is the same as every other expected date in software dev, when it's done.

The PS3 Toolset update is currently being tested & tweaked as required before deployment, it will be rolled out once I am satisfied with the outcome, not before.
