PS3 How can I play PS2 backups/ROMs on my CECHA01 PS3 using the built-in PS2 hardware?

Hello there; PlayStation 3 hacking noob here,

I recently imported a CECHA01 PS3 into Europe to play the back-catalogue of PlayStation on one box with no emulation issues and without upscaler boxes on my 4K OLED TV. I already had some PS2 game discs when I had my old TV and a standalone PS2, but that PS2's power button got broken and it would not connect to my new TV, anyway.

My first step was to immediately jailbreak it so that it would not complain about my PS2 discs being PAL-region discs. I did it using Mr. Mario's guide and in the process, I was thoroughly taking care of backing up the contents of the NAND flash before installing the EvilNat CFW (version 4.91).

It is nice to play official PAL discs on the console now, but I'd like to take it one step further by wanting to burn DVD discs or use ISOs, but I don't know the specific steps that would result in the PS3 using the built-in PS2 to play the games instead of relying on emulation.

Any helpful comment or link to a guide regarding playing PS2 backups using hardware on backwards compatible PS3s is appreciated.

I'm able to play ps2 iso's by just putting them into /ps2iso default directory. But any saves I had through the psn store (sen) I have to redownload through the store or upload via pkg/rap to use the save. I have the ps3-slim though so it can't play ps2 disks. I need to read up on how to use saves via iso because I tried one iso and it didn't detect my virtual memory card.

On the contrary. A BC PS3 will always use the PS2 hardware discs and ISOs unless you force it to use the software emulator using cfw tools.

So if I mount the ISO through multiMAN or ManaGunZ, it should use hardware acceleration (via the built-in EE and GS) to play these games, right?

How about the PS2 Classics conversion ReactPSN automatically did when I tried to activate some games?
