How to disable system update from game disk?

Hello, i have a problem: im make a backup of Asura's Wrath and try to play it from hard drive, but it keep nagging me to install system update 1.02, even though i have firmware 4.87... Is there anything, that i can do, or shoud i just install it?

i don't think it is a system update. it is a game update that has a version number of 1.02.

are you sure it's not a game update? game updates occur iirc after booting the game while system updates will mention it on the xmb when you try booting the game.

Offcourse, should be the game update, to be sure, on the xmb when game is loaded, try "check for game update" (or something like that), and it will tell you there is an update for your game (this famous 1.02 version)

you might be able to edit it out with the software update rco or sprx. rebug did this with the emer_init.self (the recovery menu) by changing PS3 to NOT. I've never personally looked for it for the xmb version.

Alternatively - just disconnect from the internet so it cannot check if an update is available
