PS2 How to fix Minna no Golf online requiring 1536MB to play on slim.

Hey. I have a problem.

When Minna no Golf Online was loaded, it tells me it needs 1536MB to play. I don't have a BB unit and I'm using the slim console. I'm playing the burnt copy of the game (ESR etc), how do I fix this issue?

THNX.

Looks like this game just like FFXI requires the presence of the internal hard drive, which the slim lacked. So yeah, you can't. FYI though, 70K model of the slims still has the HDD connection unsoldered on it's mainboard.

So, do I have to use the USB Expansion Bay (Drive) HDD for that to work?

Not USB, but IDE. Yeah, internal HDD like on those fat models. And I figured it only work with the official 40GB Sony ones.

My old fat ps2 can't play burnt games and FDVDB doesn't support those models. I've always been waiting for playing Minna no Golf Online. I also don't have an expansion bay but at least I have a USB hard drive.

Unfortunately you can't play the game without the internal HDD (or the console that supports it) since this game expects that. Not to mention they already shutdown the servers I bet (And last time I checked there's no fan server for this one). So you're SOL I guess.

What does SOL mean?

Why do u guys have to be mean to me by calling me Shit Outta Luck?!

I think you misunderstood. That's not mean, that's a figure of speech. It means you are stuck without a solution.

Due to the internal HDD requirement, only the 70K slims modded for internal HDD support, FAT units with a Network Adapter, and PSX DVR units are able to play this game. The rest of the slims had the internal HDD circuit in the hardware removed. A USB HDD will not work as that is not controlled in the same way as the internal HDD modules.

Also the servers are gone so you can't play it online even if you had the required console and a Network Adapter.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the official Sony HDD requirement. It requires the official 40GB HDD or the PSX DVR's 160GB/250GB HDD in PS2 40GB mode. This can be patched but why bother for a game that can't be played online?

I have DNAS Patched the game and I hope you can teach me how to mod my slim model for internal HDD support.

Do You understand that it is impossible? You need:
  • original Sony disk (yet theoretically it is possible to patch ATAD to remove this requirement)
  • soldered IDE to the MOBO of Your console (good luck with 40 wires, yet doable)
  • and online servers which Sony turned off, so You need man in the middle attack to redirect them and some people which handle servers
DNAS patches are only needed for game backup, to clone original DNAS number from original game.

Modding a console that way inside of the console can be very hard. So I recommend asking the PS2 modders who can mod the console (fat/slim) for help.

@sandungas Possible also on 75xxx but require a modchip which patching firmware and serve as missing IDE controller.

@Omar Aqoub Let's say You have everything dealt on hardware level, what about online servers? :P It is not cheap and people don't paying money. You are out of luck, sorry, but that's what happening with all online games on all platforms - they are dying, sooner or later, that way or another. In example people today enjoying (? ;p) playing Gran Turismo 7 but after few years later, they will end with plastic circle fit best for beer pad. And then will appear people which say: "I've dreamed about GT7 now what?" Now nothing, it died.

If one day we find a hard disk with the files requested by the game and make a backup, it will be playable again

Or try emailing Sony to send a hard drive with the necessary game files.:highly amused:
