PS2 How to fix Minna no Golf online requiring 1536MB to play on slim.

Modding a console that way inside of the console can be very hard. So I recommend asking the PS2 modders who can mod the console (fat/slim) for help.

Look, I know you want to hear "Yes, here's how and [insert modder here] will do it for [insert dollar amount here]" but it's not happening.

The truth is plain simple:
  1. You/Modders cannot mod your 77K slim for internal HDD support. It's not possible as Sony removed the hardware for it. You cannot add it either. Period. End of discussion. **See EDIT below for a correction.**
  2. The servers are dead. You cannot revive them without the server files. Nobody has them. Sony may have them but have fun getting them to release it.
EDIT: See my post after the next one by GDX for info on how to connect an HDD to the 77K.

Isn't this data wasn't send from servers but installed from resources on a disc?
I don't know exactly but I found this video maybe if he backup his hard drive we'll see what we can do with it

So a small correction on my previous post:

It looks like it is possible to install an HDD on the 77K but it will require A LOT of work. Expect to pay in the triple digits (in US dollar) assuming you can find someone willing to do the install. You are better off using a FAT PS2 like a 39K or 50K alongside the official Sony network adapter.

My PS2 slim model is SCPH-77003 and it's PAL. I've always wished for someone who lives in UK (my country) to help mod my slim console so I can install anything on the HDD while playing online games and whatever.

You CAN'T add an INTERNAL hard drive to a SCPH-770XX console.
You CAN'T use an EXTERNAL HDD via USB and make the console think it is an INTERNAL one.
The servers for the game are CLOSED SINCE YEARS AGO.

You may want to see my previous post. It turns out it is actually possible but a heck of a lot of work is involved with over 100 wires and a modified modchip acting as an IDE controller.

But yeah, the servers are dead and this kid simply can't take "it is impossible to play since the servers are dead" for an answer.

If my memory serves me right, this title doesn't directly boot off the HDD, it runs from the disc and uses the HDD for game data storage (non-bootable installation). Which is nice, because this would make reverse engineering and patching easier than with the HDD-DNAS crapola.
The other thing that I vaguely remember is that it might have required a Feega account (profile created via the PlayStation BB Navigator, saved to the HDD on the same partition that holds YNCF, encrypted).
My 2 cts.
