Hi,
Im stuggeling to install packages (updates and DLCs). The PS3 dont see any package files, but they are in the package folder. I have tried to have them in the usb root but they wont show up.
The USB works fine, I can install and play games without problems.
How to properly install *.pkg files from a NTFS USB?

How to properly install *.pkg files from a NTFS USB?

PS3 only supports FAT32 natively for external USB devices. Therefore devices formatted in NTFS, exFAT or ext* file systems are not visible through the Package Manager (or Install Package Files) menu on XMB.

The FAT32 device partition must be MBR and the packages must have the file extension .pkg (in lower case).

The packages can be placed in the root folder of the device or in the folder "packages" (all letters in lower case)

Files in FAT32 cannot be larger than 4GB. So your options to install large packages are:
1- Transfer the package to /dev_hdd0/packages using an FTP client on the PC tablet or smartphone.
2- Split the packages in files that are 4GB or smaller. This solution takes time, require some experience and it is not always possible.
3- Copy the packages to the folder /PKG on a NTFS or exFAT device and use prepISO to scan the content and webMAN MOD to install the package from the Bluray and DVD folder.
