PS3 How to Remarry BlueRay Drive on CFW PS3 Step by Step

If you plug a working drive (logic board) you can install a regular CFW even if the drive is not married yet.
So the basic procedure is:
- install new drive (logic board)
- install nobd to get ERK
- install regular CFW
- remarry in FSM
This.
You can remarry with any rebug FW when you have a drive plugged in.

Ahh, so you can remarry directly on a regular CFW? Good to know, thank you ;)

FAT PS3 had bad BRD.
Upgraded to Evilnat 4.88 noBRD
Replaced and remarried new BRD in Factory mode. Says Ok.
BRD movies play ok in Factory Mode.
Returned to Retail and installed full Evilnat 4.88.2
No BRD in XML and Evilnat still says Evilnat 4.88 noBRD installed on boot.
mmMC says there isn't a BRD license problem to fix.
Don't know what to do next.

Ok... I fixed it on my own by pulling the HDD, reformatting it on my pc and then putting it back into the PS3 where it was formatted again.
Now the BDR displays games and movies like it should.

I done all the steps, my dev flash3 was empty at first.
Done all the steps and now has the CLR DRL archives but when try to play a BD movie says "Reproduction of BDs are prohibited on this system". Don't know what todo now.
Any Idea?

I was able to remarry without having to reflash the NOBD firmware.
CFW 4.89 has all the necessary tools. In the Network section in Custom Firmware Tools there is a DUMP section with an option to dump the EID root key. After you get this file just follow the rest of the steps to enable Factory Service Mode.

This may or may not be the right thread for this question.
Is there a tool/procedure to determine if a BDD that is seemingly having an issue is mechanical or software in nature?

My PS3 will load and eject discs however there is no acknowledgement in XMB that a disc has been inserted. Any disc, game, BD, DVD, or CD. I replaced the drive laser [KES-410A for CECHL01 phat], no change. Tried the remarry process here using nat's 4.89 CFW, received the success message, yet XMB still does not acknowledge a disc. If I insert a disc while in standby it will take the disc and power up.

Looking for guidance on where to channel my efforts.
Thanks!
