PS3HEN How to remove HEN?

I have a few games that need online to play but I don't want to risk getting banned so I need to somehow remove HEN, thanks in advance

No, it will not. almost all HEN files are not on flash, so will be unaffected by a FW install. The only real way to get everything is to install OFW, then do a full restore of the console.

You can try and get everything manually and delete it with a file manager first. But there is not even a list of what goes where.. So it would be hassle, especially if you have installed multiple homebrews.

Yes, nothing is stopping you from playing online now. So it will work online. How much you clean up after HEN before going online is up to you and whatever you feel is best. If it was me, and it was an important account with lots of purchases or history, I would do a restore to factory defaults as well to be sure, that might be overkill though, so its up to you..
 
If you disable your syscalls before signing in you can avoid getting banned.There should be a simple option to disable syscalls under the idps option in webman setup.If done,every time you enable hen you won't be able to launch Homebrew,and your injected backups will work fine except for the ones you mount to the drive,then you would have to use something like psn patch.

@DeViL303 reinstalling ofw 4.84 or hfw 4.84 will remove he cause all the BIN is in dev_flash/hen/ and the enable hen that contain javascript to start hen is in category_game.xml so reinstalling fw will overwrite all the flash and category_game.xml with it removing the enable hen cause it will install the ofw category_game.xml that have no app_home no package manager and no Enable HEN egg icon
 
Just don't enable HEN and play online. HEN can't be detected unless it's enabled. This is what I do if playing online. HEN doesn't do anything permanent to your system. It only patches games and so forth dynamically so if not enabled it isn't able to be detected. This way you have the best of both worlds.

That post was written when almost all files were on hdd. There are still files on hdd so reinstalling fw will not clean the hdd.

files on HDD are only HENplugin.sprx and hen/xml/hfw_settings and ps3hen_updater and those have no effect without PS3HEN.BIN is running

Dont forget all the folders and homebrew traces, PSXISO, PS3ISO, PSPISO, plugins, packages, hen, GAMES, BDISO, DVDISO, exdata, ROMS, then there is any files that homebrew like webman mod puts in various places.

Of course I know HEN will not work without the bin, But this thread is not about files having an effect or "will hen work" , this thread is about:

And ban risk, leaving custom plugins and xml files and folders on hdd is not a clean system and still poses a ban risk.

What you are saying is that reinstalling HFW will remove all VISIBLE signs that HEN was previously installed from the XMB. I agree. It does not clean the system though which is also important in this context.

On this topic, this is why i always recommend doing a full system restore and a OFW install: It clears the xregistory and every trace on homebrew/HEN, this can be important too as people enable debug settings, then change stuff that would be not be possible to change on OFW.

With HEN 3.0.1 is still necessary to format the console to remove HEN?

If you want to be 100% sure I would recommend it, especially if you have using it for a while. You can delete everything manually and it might be fine too.
