Yep, but once you install OFW to get HFW you can't downgrade.i think han and hen both require hfw to enable at least on 4.84+

you cant downgrade from 4.86 to 4.85 no...but you can switch between ofw 4.86 and hfw 4.86. you may have to install from recovery but that is normal.Yep, but once you install OFW to get HFW you can't downgrade.
To install OFW, get the OFW UPDAT.PUP and put it in USB with correct folders and all and update via USB!DeVil303, "No, it will not. almost all HEN files are not on flash, so will be unaffected by a FW install. The only real way to get everything is to install OFW, then do a full restore of the console."
But how do you install OFW? I am on HFW 4.86 at the moment so what should I do?

The file needs to be named "PS3UPDAT.PUP" without quotations, and needs to be in \PS3\UPDATE\ on the root of a USB drive formatted in FAT32 with MBR.But what folders!! I need help
We would need to know what you mean by "it would not update" , what error did you get?Hey if anyone is still around I was trying to uninstall hen off my ps3 and I did everything from the instructions which use a fat32 usb, getting the ps3updat.pup folder setup with PS3 folder with a UPDATE folder in the PS3 folder. I even got the latest update on the official playstation website and when I boosted it in recovery mode and clicked on the update with the usb in the ps3 it would not update. I don't know what I am doing wrong since that update file is from the official site as well. I even factory reset my ps3 multiply times from hard reset, to recovery mode reset and still did not work. i've been doing that for the past days and it is hurting my brain badly. (my ps3 is a super slim the one that slides the disc opener, the hen is 4.86)
It would keep saying "no applicable update data was found. Connect storage media that contains update data of version 4.86 or later" my USB that I am using right now is plugged in as well. I can't exactly tell if my USB uses mbr cause when I looked at its properties it only gave me 3 options which is FAT32,NTFS and exFAT,. The file does say PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP as wellWe would need to know what you mean by "it would not update" , what error did you get?
If it could not find any update you probably have it named wrong, or not in the correct folder, or the USB device is not formatted correctly. It must be exactly like usb:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP and the device must be formatted as FAT32 MBR
no. it leaves folders (PS3ISO, PS2ISO, others) and a few files. i think there is an uninstall under hfw tools. it probably leaves some folders that may have games in them.if your like delete hen will it restore automatically to ofw?
