PS3 I get a fat PS3 today, I need a reliable CFW installation guid

So today I finally got my hands on a fat PS3.

I see people following bad guides and brick their ps3.

Please tell me a reliable guide for installing CFW.
 
In a nutshell....

You find out if your fat is a nand or nor by checking the model number on the back...

You update to 4.82 which is the latest firmware,nothing less than that or you can brick.Make sure you update with the offical 4.82 pup on sonys website with a usb and not through the internet update.

Then you go here http://**ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) on your ps3 webbrowser,go to flash writer then write flash from hdd.Choose nand or nor depending on your model,getting it wrong will also result in a brick.

Make the exploit page your home page by pressing triangle and go to the tools section,close and reopen the webbrowser,last but not least you follow the instructions,get the hex file flashed to your motherboard and you will be able to install rebug as a update pup.

Once you have rebug installed you can switch to dex mode which allows more features and you can use webman.

I see people talking about they brick because they forgot to check the dump before rebooting.

I did not see dump check in this guide, does not it need to be done?

Well,i did say that getting the nand or nor wrong results in a brick,and he is using a fat so thats a guaranteed model that is jailbreakable.This was a post I made a month ago so the op probably got the console jailbroken by now anyway.

It doesn't matter if its jailbreakable, its still brickable. And of course the OP has hacked his console by now, the reason I mentioned it was bad advice was because he specifically asked you if he should check the dump before rebooting and you told him to reboot regardless, turns out he knows more than you about the process :) and other people might read your advice and think it is correct.

Almost every CFW installation guide found on PSX PLACE is reliable and you can completely trust it.

I tried to follow that guide more than once. I get to the step where it says to download from http://www.mediafire.com/file/advwyak5ry88ket/NOR_NAND_writer_release_1.0_PS3Xploit.zip , but I cannot continue because the file is no longer hosted on MediaFire. I look around for this file and the announcement thread on PSX-Place has the links to the files crossed out (I assume they are no longer up), and the article says to no longer use it but to use the 2.0 announcement thread instead. I go to the 2.0 thread and download the files, but some of the files mentioned in the 1.0 guide are not present in the 2.0 zip file, and there are no new directions on the 2.0 thread. I have been Googling all day. I'm pretty resourceful but I have not been able to find a single guide anywhere on the Internet (trying all day) that I can follow exactly without encountering some kind of error. There are other places I could get the 1.0 file, but how do I know if they are trustworthy? Should I be using the newer 2.0 guide anyway?
