PS3 I Need Help For Broken Blu-Ray Ps3

SdBrQTc
i've broken this black part and the flat. i've buyed a new flat and i've replaced it. now the
blu ray player don't work
Thats easy to repair, the purpose of the piece made with black plastic is to press the flat ribbon cable against the pins of the connector

Try to see if you can insert a sheet of plastic (or cardboard) together with the ribbon cable inside the connector, this adds pressure and fixes it

Alternativelly... use your imagination

I took this step but the reader shows no signs of life :(

I dont remember right now how it looks inside that connector, but im guessing after the black (mobile) clip is broken still is going to have some room to insert the ribbon cable, right ?
Even if you can only insert the ribbon cable 2 or 3 milimeters... that would be enought

What you need to do is to add some material together with the flat ribbon cable to increase his thickness, the best way to do it is with a sheet of plastic (because the thickness of the plastic sheet is going to be very constant, so it generates the same pressure all along, for all the pins), i was talking about it here (and in some other posts i cant find right now)

Incase the connector doesnt have that 2 or 3 milimeters to insert a bit of the ribbon cable in it... then is where you need to "invent" something to "grab" the ribbon cable in his position by pressure, the photo i posted is not really what i would use (too much ghetto), but something like that could work... some kind of clip

Btw, dissassemble the PS3 and take the BD circuit board and the ribbon cable out... and take a couple of days to study the sizes and dimmensions of the connector... and to do several tests
-You need to find some plastic sheet in your house that fits a bit with the needed thickness (easy)
-You need to cut several pieces of that plastic very accuratelly (easy, but do it with the most precission posible, this is the most critical step)
-You need to do several tests inserting the ribbon cable together with the plastic sheets to adjust the pressure (easy too)

Is the kind of thing you need to do carefully, but is easy, just keep in mind the only purpose of the piece that has been broken was to "push" the flat ribbon cable against the pins
You need to achieve the same, but with "home made" parts :)

i've tried with this solution but it doesn't work

Really ?, in the photo looks good, ive seen other photos from people doing it worst than you and was working

The ribbon cable needs to be kept a bit thight (enought to bend the pins), and the plastic needs to have the same width (to dont miss any pins)
All the pins needs to be pressed, if there is 1 or 2 pins not pressed (the ones at the sides) then it doesnt works

Keep trying, i think you are close

I checked that all pins are pressed but nothing,
in recovery mode if I try to insert a cd in the player it doesn't read it

What you need to do is to install the PS3UPDAT.PUP

I think if you insert a CD in recovery mode is going to be ignored always because the firmware is not fully loaded

I tried to reposition the flat five times. the screen remains on verification in progress

Without better photos i cant get an idea of how good is the connection, anyway that pins are so small than is almost imposible to do good quality photos of all that
So you have to use your intuition (and a magnifyer glass if posible), if all the copper lines of the ribbon cable are touching the pins of the connector then that problem is fixed and you should consider that maybe you have more additional problems

The ribbon cable itself could be damaged internally, sometimes happens if you bent it many times back and forth... or at the time you broke the clip you was pulling too much from it... or maybe have the tips "peeled", etc...

Other components are not probable to be damaged
I mean... breaking the clip and damaging the ribbon cable the same day is something that could happen
But breaking the clip and some electrical component started failing the same day is very umprobable

So... the way i see it you have either:
-only clip broken
-clip broken + ribbon cable damaged

initially I had broken the flat and i've bought another one and i have replaced it. i've opened the reader and there was a 5 cents inside the optical lens I reassembled everything and subsequently I tried to install the cfw but I always see the same screen.. check in progress..

it is possible that the logic board is broken now?
It could, maybe the coin made a short circuit
Btw, incase you dont know, you can dissassemble the BD drive completly and keep only that circuit board connected to the main motherboard
There is people that does this to improve the cooling and temperatures

You need to isolate the board electrically (covering it with plastic, inside an envelope, or something like that), connect the ribbon cables to it and connect that to the main motherboard (and stick the BD circuit board to one of the metal shields that covers the main motherboard)
This way you can focus your attention to only that circuit board + the ribbon cables

All the other parts of the BD drive are not really a requirement for CFW... all the software will work normally without them

ok, after these passages i will install a cfw? :)

i've installed dex pasta cfw 4.84 with the broken blu ray and now?..

That cfw doesnt contains any noBD patch as far i know... in that case thats all, your problem about the BD is fixed
no it is because the db drive don't work and the cfw doesn't run very well the homebrews because i see a black screen when i try to open it..

You can either try to find or build yourself a noBD CFW for DEX or enable BDEmu from the debug settings and plug a USB that has BDEmu setup.

https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=218
But how is posible he completed the installation of dex pasta cfw 4.84 ?
A normal firmware (without the noBD patches) should not complete the installation, it should stop at an intermediate point of the installation when the installer checks the BD controller chip revision, software version, etc.. right ?
But he completed the firmware installation o_O
