Hi everyone.
I am asking for advice on a specific problem.
Long time ago, i took couple of games from psn which installed perfectly fine. no 80029564 error whatsoever.
PKG were saved on a PC local drive.
Time passed. new HDD for PS3, i reinstalled, for a specific game, let's say House of the dead over kill.
i now have 80029564 error.
After diving internet, i reduced to possible solution that damaged HDD who cannot read PKG.
i went back to psn to get the PKG... the pkg is bad SHA-1 from aldo's tools CONTENT-ID.
i redownloaded game again on another PC HDD drive to prevent the possibility of the PC. same SHA-1 corruption.
Then i repluged the old ps3 drive, went on game folder NPEB00781, took the folder to computer. I also extracted the freshly downloaded pkg from PSN, and made SHA-1 compair.
i found something very unusual :
a 1 byte difference on couple of files.
i do not understand what can cause such issue, because the PKG is a compressed format, and corruption in download would ( i suppose ) corrupt the pkg extraction, and there is no extraction issue in the process ( made with Aldo's tools too. ) I can be wrong on this point.
i redownloaded with net bandwidth limitation to prevent sort of corruption, just in case, i took file multiple times from psn network on different HDDs from my computer, each time, bad SHA-1
the adress of the game is :
Mod Edit
No direct PSN links.
Link is not piracy intended, it is just for others people willing to check the file to verify if SHA-1 is natively damaged ( which i still highly doubt ) or it is just me who go stupid.
I go mad on this problem.
At this point i am considering to make a custom pkg file from the valid game folder on old ps3 drive, but this is not the way to go properly.
I just cannot explain myself what is going on.
Any advise is appreciated.
Regards.
