PS3 I'm stuck at asking for a update version of 9.99 in safe mode(only Downgrader works but not to xmb)

TL;DR: My PS3 is asking for a 9.99 version but I don't know how to go past the 9.99 Downgrader system update, so I am stuck.


So my recent hard drive died when it was on my PS3, and so I can't recover any of the files in it. Which is why I got a new fresh hard drive which is formatted to NTFS. I tried opening it but it said the required files in it aren't in it so I tried to update it to latest cobra, 4.89 ofw, 3.55 Kmeaw, and also rebug 4.84.2 DREX but only the 9.99 downgrader worked for my situation because the update data is requiring 9.99. I don't know what to do after using the 9.99 downgrader because after I finished the system update for it, it doesn't go to xmb but instead it just flashes a static and then goes to a black screen. My region of PS3 is from japan, because it uses the circle instead of the X, I don't know if it's CEX or DEX because the previous owner I got it from already had it homebrewed and doesn't know the info about it, I also don't know what firmware version/homebrew is used because I never really found it when using the ps3 before it died.



So right now, I don't know what to do which is why I'm asking in this forum, thank you in advance if you can input anything to fix this issue!

CFW 3.55 <what exactly?> Downgrader is standard 3.55. You should boot to XMB normally. If You have boot loop, then You need clean or fix dev_hdd1 (use tasker script and of course You need Yours ERK), eventually format HDD. If she still not boot to XMB, it means fw or even flash is broken.

If You would be able to boot into XMB on this fw, You need set QA flag, then go to recovery and from there update to any fw.

You cannot link files from Your HDD. It is internet You know? ;]

So I have fixed it, using a AV cable because turns out, that was the only issue behind it (where the static was only showing because HDMI... stuff), but now my next issue is not being able to upgrade to a new cfw from system update with xmb, something about the data being corrupted. Also can't really play US games but Japanese Initial D is working so I'm still stuck figuring out my next move from there, also I turned qa flag on from rebug toolbox

Also yeah, I really don't know how to delete forum posts in psx-place if I could I would because I would quickly remove it, but yeah I'll try out the qa flag then recovery then cfw later... Would knowing if it's dex or cex be a great step also?
 
DEX fw have debug XMB with debug settings until someone intentionally switch to CEX XMB XMLs (unlikely happen but physically possible and without any sense ;]).
