PS3 Insert special characters in param.sfo

Nice idea. That could probably be done if we had used a different category in the PARAM.SFO like CB/SF from the start for all homebrew, then we could have homebrew folders, and sub categories etc. But scene is a bit too old now to get something like that to become a standard.

The way it works now though, ALL apps are HG, and they all will get the little PS3 logo. We could add a Homebrew logo to the title of apps, but that is not them same, although its an option.

Yea the letters inside a circle look awesome.
agree is old to become a standard thing on CFW, has to be done individually

i have all the tools like webman, iris man psnpatch and the main files of retroarch etc modded to CB category.
anything not game related goes there lol
(things that i lerned here)
then i have something similar to retro XMB for all my games,

Hmm interesting thought. I don't want to derail the subject of this thread but I don't think the scene is old. I read the same thought somewhere here by someone at this forum, but I don't think it's true. Look at the ps2 scene today, it's still alive and kicking. The ps3 scene can be greater now that we got the jailbreak again in 4.82 and now in 4.84. we got clever people here.

And we still have research on RSX by Renè.
You, aldotools, joonie, habib, zar, sandungas, kozarovv (did I spell correctly?) and moderators are developing and researching. There's a lot of users in CFW right now compared to the past.
I will keep the faith. :)

Ohh and I'm new as a regular user too because of 4.82 xploit, almost upgraded to 4.83...I just asked my self what the heck $ony did updating again after 1 year without updates... I canceled the update (it was almost installing) then I looked at google and Booom, then I found this forum in late 2018. Just got the guts to exploit it in December 31th :P. Thank you all guys, btw :)

There are tonnes of things that could be changed, and should have been years ago IMO, but people get used to things the way they are, then no one wants to rock the boat by changing things. For example, We could remove CB apps from network, and HM apps from PSN, and start using then in every day applications. That would be great, but there are probably a couple of people out there who are already using them for something, so if you change the way they work you will have complaints from them.

Same with blocking official updates from XMB, its seems logical, and should be done, but if you do it then you will have a stream of users with "my xmb update icon is not working, help" , So you cant win. I think the best way to do it is, we all just mod our own XMB the way we like it, and throw all old standards out the window. :)
