Is it a good idea to proactively buy IDPS?

So my PS3 has never been online on PSN since I had it jailbroken so it's definitely not banned. I'm considering buying an IDPS nonetheless so I don't have to risk the real one getting banned.
Is this a good idea?

You use HEN or CFW?
 
If you use CFW you can downgrade to 4.88 and use the IDPset program to extract the eid_root_key from your console then write down your original IDPS and then replace it with the desired IDPS then make the permanent IDPS write. You can use cobra tools to dump idps.hex. If you use HEN there is not much to worry about.
 
To read ERK, You don't need to downgrade. The same with IDPS which in addition can be read also on HEN.
 
No one will hunt you down unless you look for it yourself. I know people who use trophy hacks on legitimate accounts they use on PS3, PS4, and PS5, and it doesn't happen. Just don't use mods online
 
I dont recommend that bc some guys sell banned id or a fake id only the trusted way is find a broken consol from your friend or etc
 
Stockpiling things like this seems like an incredibly dumb move. Even if it is not banned outright it might end up that way if it is used by someone else and you will only find out when time comes to use it. As others said it - take precautions and acquire one only when/if you need it.

I have also speculated that maybe certain CID sellers will give you a "grace period" because sometimes I have bought CIDs and they don't get banned for about 8 months but then again that is all just a theory

Still, I would say that they sell you the CID and let you keep it long enough to be pleased and possibly consider buying another if the current gets banned... because I wouldn't be too thrilled to buy a CID and have it last a month or less but it has happened before

Lots of CID sellers are marked as "trusted sellers" and those are the CIDs that usually last for about a year, any other kind of seller I would not buy Console IDs from

Abandoned PS3s are the best bet for CID hunters
