Like Aldo told you, the webMAN-MOD XMB icon is the webMAN-MOD Installer, not the webMAN-MOD server itself. When you click on the icon, the installer installs the wMM server files & exits to XMB when done, it's perfectly normal.
Basically a wMM installation goes like this:
1. You install the webMAN-MOD pkg with the pkg manager, it deploys the wMM installer as if it were a PSN app & you get a new wMM installer icon on XMB.
2. You launch the wMM installer using the XMB icon & the appropriate gamepad combo to setup the wMM edition of your choice (Full, Standard, Mini etc..).
3. Once the installation is complete, you can click on triangle pad button while on wMM installer XMB icon to delete the wMM installer which is no longer needed (this step is optional, you can keep the installer around if you want).
4. If Cobra is enabled, on reboot, the webMAN-MOD http/ftp server will start automatically & you can access its features through the webMAN-MOD folder menu items. Typically at this stage, you would open the wMM setup page (
http://localhost/setup.ps3) & configure wMM for your needs.
You can use webMAN-MOD Web pages or Web commands (see the dedicated wMM Web Commands list thread) from any browser on any device connected to the same LAN as the PS3, you only need to replace the "localhost" part of the wMM URL with the ps3 local IP address (something like 192.168.x.x).
5. If ever one day you wish to disable webMAN-MOD temporarily for whatever reason, you can edit the /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt file & remove the line corresponding to the webftp_server.sprx path. On reboot the webMAN-MOD server will no longer start automatically. If you add the webftp_server.sprx path line again to boot_plugins.txt & reboot, wMM will start automatically again.
6. To uninstall the webMAN-MOD server, you can use the dedicated Web command from the browser:
http://localhost/delete.ps3?uninstall
