Is there an offline/self-host method for PS3Xploit on 4.88?

I see that PS3 Toolset does not have a non-internet method. Is there a flash_488.hex out there to use the old PS3xploit self-host method to run PS3xploit without internet? Just thinking about what would happen if PS3 Toolset were to go permanently offline for some reason.

There is no recent file to use with the old exploit, they were an obsolete non standard patch design with flaws.

The Toolset patch files are all standard no-fsm patches made by littlebalup & available at his pyps3tools github repo.
They cannot be used with the old tools without modding the code.

The ps3 toolset is still under development, I have been working on it this very afternoon, I won't give up the project until I have, at the very least, a lv1 exploit working.
It will not go offline as long as users donate enough to renew hosting every 3 years (through PayPal team@** ** www.ps3xploit.net > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com) > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com), I already spoke about this several times in this forum. For now it's paid up until November 2022.
If donations don't amount to the necessary price tag for hosting renewal, we shall see, one way or another, I would ensure some measure of continuity, it may not be as featureful as the PS3 Toolset but I would make sure that flashing consoles remains possible.
Keeping in mind that by this time next year, we may have new exploits & possibly a new way to launch exploits offline from the XMB without using the browser, these things may impact the current status quo anyway.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I know that you are still actively working on it and that hosting costs are not a worry in the grand scheme of things, but there's always the risk of the unknown - such as you getting hit by a bus and suddenly disappearing. I suppose this could be mitigated if you are privately sharing it with a couple people. Plus, there's probably a very small amount of users without the ability to connect their PS3 to the internet access (such as those who live in very rural areas) who could use a locally run exploit.

Either way, my concern just comes from a place of wanting to see PS3Xploit continue into the future indefinitely. There's definitely nothing wrong with the awesome menu site today :)

LOL
Joking aside, you are right enough but we now have a solution thanks to the revised js framework code I just wrote for the new HEN installer release.
That revised framework makes writing simple ROP code quite easy when you know what you are doing.
With it esc0rtd3w should be able to put a functional flashing tool using standard patches together to sort you guys out by the time the hosting needs renewed, if something ever happened to me.

There is no plan to release an offline PS3 Toolset in part because the current offline exploit solutions are too limited to support it & I don't want to spend my time on finding fixes & workarounds to make it work, there are more important things to work on including finding a new way to launch offline exploits which may change a lot of things, maybe make it possible to release a better generation of offline tools.
Most people who have a ps3 also have a mobile phone so 5mn hot-spotting is also a solution if they don't have Internet at home. All in all, it leaves few people out.
After that it is a question of priorities, I cannot do everything, not within the time I am able to dedicate to it so I must make choices.

To give you an idea, right now I am updating the Toolset's Flash memory manager (which is renamed System manager) to add syscon errors log & various IDs & looking to add more system information data if possible.
And I am finishing the new File Manager tool which has proven to be a more complex job than I originally anticipated.
It led me to develop the multithreading support with proper thread synchronisation that you can already enjoy in the latest Toolset release.
This year I also wrote a new lv2 exploit for the next phase of the project & rewrote a new framework for the HEN tools which should be released soon. esc0rtd3w lost someone recently so the HEN tools update work had to be halted temporarily.
Add to that the time it took to produce & test the 4.88 Toolset update, like I said, I have to prioritise & make choices. Of course, the to-do list is ever growing.. Lol
