Hello, I have tried several guides including modern warfares but have not had any luck with getting linux to install. I have tried 2 different usbs both fat32 mbt and both usb ports. When using MWs newer guide Im able to see the terminal(?) I cant plug in my keyboards until the terminal is ready for me to type, or at least until after the terminal loads. After I figured that out and could start typing I ran into this issue. My model is CUH-2215B

Kernel panic and before ata errors suggesting You have unrecognized or broken hardware.

What kind of Linux are You trying to install? It must be Linux with drivers which support PS4 hardware, You cannot take any PC distribution and trying to install it without modifications first. Well, this is obvious, but just in case. ;)

Hi, thanks for replying. I tried installing the modified fedora linked in MWs youtube video. I also tried another linux i found in another guide for my ps4 model but it also had some issues.

Both the usbs are new, one of them only a month old and the other one brand new never used. I will try and grab a screen cap of the error from the other linux when I get off work. If theres anything I can do on my end to help you figure out whats causing this then let me know so I dont create unnecessary work for you.

I tried that guide but was unable to get my keyboard to work, after about 5 tries I used another bzImage. Linux is now vrooming. Thank you for taking time out of your day to reply to my messages and helping me get this working! :tears of joy:

That keyboard which not working is standard one on USB or wireless on WiFi/BT+adaptor? Standard HID one should works out of the box.

Ok, I have managed to install steam os v3, my problem now is that I had to use ctrl alt f2 to get out of a black screen. Now Im in a terminal and have no idea how to get into gui mode. Seems to use xfce4

That sounds like black screen in desktop environment while is ok in text shell.

If distribution using X-Server, You can back to it by switching shell or (if not run yet) typing "startx" (I don't remember how his works in Wayland, still never use it and I don't know if PS4 Linux's are build on Wayland or X). But this will back to You to black screen again until this issue will not be solve (and personally I don't have idea why You experiencing something like that).
