PS3 MGS Phantom Pain

I ripped MGS phantom pain using irisman and the iso fails to install game data. Ripped again in folder format, moved to PC and used makeps3iso to create the iso. Still the same issue in all managers. Tried using genps3iso with same results.

Right now I'm transferring the iso to my internal HDD to see if it works. The game is checked against IRD and all is good.

If this doesn't work, I'd be happy if anyone could give me some advice. I know I can use the disc, but why do that if I can use my backup and spare both disc and laser..?

Really strange...
I ripped my MGS4, GROUND ZEROES & PHANTOM PAIN sony disc using mmCM (copy to internal HDD , creating ISO then i copied theses ISO on my External HDD FAT32 and they work flawlessly) truly less hussle than downloading makeps3iso.exe and doing all theses thing that the console actually do in a finger snap and correctly !

....are you sure you have not downloaded theses games online ?

Even tho I don't really feel like dignifying that with answer, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I rip using irisman, not mmcm. You do the opposite. My games work, but ripped in folder format. Making an iso made them failing. So that was the step that needed solving.

Yes I could use mmcm to rip them into iso, but if I prefer irisman for the task, shouldn't I be allowed to use it? Or does this automatically make me a criminal?

I think he is talking about "PS3 JB" game format, where the game is stored as folder/files (this is not an ISO)

Exactly. And I prefer to use my PC to create an ISO as I usually add updates and dlc to it with CreatePS3Extras, to keep everything nice and tidy. So to rip the games to ISO would add one more step to the process in my case, as I'd have to extract the ISO to add the extra content.

Yup. I just had this issue the other day. So I just gave up and just decided to keep using the disc. MGSV TPP is only $10 brand new on Amazon right now too. Pretty good deal considering Ground Zeros is like $15 or $20, and GZ is just the intro/prologue to TPP. Lol.
