PS4 Multiple Hdds

So basically I'm wanting to build a revertable PS4 as published by Modded Warfare on YouTube and it got me thinking if there was a way to hook two HDDs up to the system, one to be used with the 9.00 FW with the homebrew apps and one for when I have it on the latest FW for online gaming. My thoughts are so you can maybe flick a switch or something to swap between the 2 instead of having to keep taking them out and physically changing them.

Someone mentioned the Nyko databank plus but not really looked into in much

it will NOT work. the firmware is installed to HDD and internal chips. you can not downgrade so you will lose ability to jailbreak if you installer firmware greater than 9.00 for any reason.

So the revertable guide using a teensy 2.0++ and being able to swap from slot A to slot B that he made doesn't work? In the video he is able to update to latest and swap back. Obviously it involves soldering to the NOT and Syscon, and using PS4 we tools and SPIWay/NOTway. THe way he shows it would be like you could have a hdd for use on slot A and one for slot B.

oh i forgot about that way to downgrade. i thought you meant just changing HDDs. most people can not do that because it is a complicated process. that way might work if done properly AFAIK.

i would recommend just getting a second ps4 for online only. the only real reason to do it this way would be to rip games/emus or other files that are unavailable on 9.00.

I have my PS4 Pro on 9.00 so will not be messing with that. But I managed to grab a bargain of a phat PS4 that was on 9.00 but owner accidentally updated so he sold it me really cheap. I was going to use it has a bit of a project. I'm good with PCB repairs so I shouldn't have any issues on that side of it.

I was really hoping to find a way to easy swap the hdds from one to another without physically removing. Almost like a HDMI Spliter for a TV but for HDDs instead.

AFAIK you must make the backup needed to downgrade before you upgrade.

The way a saw it was that the critical data for the FW was stored on the inactive slot within the NOR chip sp using a Teensy 2.0++ allowed you to read and write to the chip, making it possible to dump the data and re wite ndas a when needed to swap the active slot.
So by having a "Slot A HDD" on 9.00 and then a "Slot B HDD" on latest FW you can easily swap back and forth with just a few programs on a computer. I'll have to write everything up and post my findings, maybe every do a detailed documented guide for posting on here?
