PS2 [MX4SIO/SIO2SD] SD Card Adapter and SD-driver for the PS2 SIO2 interface

@Masumi Arakawa:
It basically is a better technological "Backbone" for the storage-device access.

It allows for "block devices" and filesystems to be added more easily as well as being code-wise less intermingled and hence easier manageable and upgradable! :)
It MIGHT have or get a higher compatibility.

BDM is a software and not a hardware or connector like MX4SIO (SIO), USB, LAN, i.Link/FireWire, etc.

@Versatile: Keep in mind that the files need to be non-fragmented, just like on USB! If it still black-screens, try some modes, PS2-Logo being ON as well as the "PADEMU-Fix"!

It HAS. I've already proven that on Discord

I got 4 of these, 2 brands and compatibility for games and SDs is equal so I assume both are good BUT when I run any compatible game memory card from MC0 stops to be detected, is this normal?

I tested 4 SDs:
Verbatim 256GB - works great, fast detection
SanDisk Extreme 8GB SD - doesn't work
SanDisk 32GB - works good, slow detection
Memorex 1GB - doesn't work.

THX for the report and congratulations that you got such a big card working so well!

Can you try an older test-build?!

Erm, which one? :D

Welp, 128GB mSD SanDisk works as well but this one I'm using for SD mod for 70004 as internal HDD as 256GB Verbatim (when filled almost full) is not detected, and is when some game installed (as PFS format).

Welp, thanks, now everything is crystal clear. :D

EDIT: Unfortunately none of these MX4SIO OPLs work with my 77 and 9k ps2s, and MC0 issue persists with these 2 older ones too.

BDM3 doesn't work with your Slims?
BDM(1) and BDM2 are to be expected to not work on "DECKARD-PS2s".

Does it black screen when you start it?
Delete the config, if that's the case.

Edit: Oh, they "start" it seems?

I will upload a video later on, to prove that I have no issue saving on these (at least on the games I tried)!

The thing is all of these (except BDM2) start on newer slims but doesn't detect compatible mSD card. On 7k all work, I mean turn on and detect MX4SIO. And I cannot save with BDM1 and official OPL, I cannot say about BDM2 and not sure about BDM3. :D

Edit: I checked BDM3.ELF and welp, saving works, compatible cards detected, just configuration is messed up unless I'll remove it and 'save it clean'. :D I hope this will be the case for official OPL since it doesn't detect (I mean official released OPL) MC0. Also BDM3 freezes randomly on loading screens.

Try BDM3 and run some games - which have issues - with PADEMU turned on! ;)

On another note: I tried it on a 90k and 39k as you can see on my YouTube account.

Ok, MX4SIO works for me now on 9k and 77004 so I guess I have no idea what was the problem and trick with pademu I'll definitely try. ;) Btw, dude, edit first post to avoid confusion. :)

Are there any of these available?

For fun I was thinking about trying to make it work for the original playstation. I think maybe ack will need to be looped from atn rather than grounded, to avoid locking up both controller ports (it will still lock up one of them). I don't know if that will stop it working for playstation 2.

I figure it's a long shot, but my soldering isn't really up to building one from scratch. I can probably cut a trace and solder a single wire though.

I was thinking about writing an exe loader for homebrew more than iso loading (cd audio is a bit of a deal breaker for that).
