PS2 [MX4SIO/SIO2SD] SD Card Adapter and SD-driver for the PS2 SIO2 interface

Does anyone know whether or not using the memory card port like this, to stream games, will have adverse effects on total lifetime and longevity?

As far as I know it basically does reading from SD card so it shouldn't be fatal for it by any means even with VMC turned on for compatible games. As for helping, I bought prebuilt one so not really able to help, sorry. :D

Those in the first post.
BDM(1) and BDM3.

I tried BDM3 on my 79002 and it just hangs at a black screen. :-(
I have SATA adapter on my fat so it is not a huge deal but it would be nice to get this to work on my slim as well.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it?

Settings for OPL, if you have them on MC0 then yes, you may leave settings for internet, these won't make problem.

Could you show me already finished and the steps to follow better explained?

UPDATE 08/04/2021
Add 10k resistor from MISO(DAT) to 3.3v(VCC)

Look up, if there are settings on USB, HDD, MX4SIO/SD, FireWire, LAN/SMB! ;)

It is a slim model. I only have MC0 with the bdm3 elf.
Nothing else except a controller is connected. No USB, no MC1, no HDD.
Only two things connected, MC0 with bdm3.elf and a controller.
I delete all config files in MC0:/OLP except the networking. When I try to start bdm3.elf it flashes the screen a few times and just hangs on a black screen.

If I delete the whole MC0:/OPL directory completely, same thing, hangs with a black screen.

Try to run OPL3.ELF without MX4SIO plugged in and without OPL settings (even networking) and wait around a minute, if nothing then maybe not original MC?

It is a genuine memory card, as far as I can tell.
I delete every file in the OPL/ directory and when I try to run it it just black-screens, for 10 minutes or so until I get tired of waiting and just reboot it.
If I run the old version of OPL that I have on that memory card, version 0.9.something, it runs just fine, albeight without any settings, since I deleted all the settings files.
But this bdm3 elf file just black screens on this model.

Maybe I should just try to compile it myself. The OPLs I compile myself always seems to work.
Where is the repository and which branch is used for this new feature/mod ?

Do you have any other ps2 to test? Isn't this one modchipped or something? I checked with my 50004 and OPL3.ELF (renamed to OPNPS2LD.ELF) works as intended. As for source code I think you should ask Maximus32.

Hiya Friends, hope everything is going super well at your end.

I just finished reading this whole thread, what an amazing journey! :love heart:

Please can i ask...

@TnA

@Fabio Kuntze

...i want to order the MX4SIO PCB, using the Gerber files. However, i noticed the 10k Ω pull-up resistor on the DAT0 line (for better game compatibility) was never featured in any MX4SIO file updates in the end. Does that mean the 10k Ω pull-up resistor is not needed, or will there be a later version of MX4SIO that will include it?

Here's my d.i.y build below, just waiting on a Toshiba Exceria Micro SD to test, only have SanDisk which wasn't recognised (as mentioned in this thread). Will aim to update you guys here soon, once the Toshiba Exceria arrives, all being well.

Ciao for now.
