PS2 [MX4SIO/SIO2SD] SD Card Adapter and SD-driver for the PS2 SIO2 interface

For anyone who asked (someone did earlier in the thread) I did order one of the BitFunx adapters from AliExpress (Helder's option wasnt even an option at the time, on that wait list now ), took a few pics for who was wondering about the pcb. The case is a legit Sony, just dremel cut for the SD card.

Mmmm, interesting, it looks like a re-design so they can incorporate the "non inversed SD connector socket" - because the inversed ones are more difficult to find and more expensive. However, the inversed SD / MicroSD sockets are the best - because when you insert the SD / MicroSD memory card you are looking at the logo side facing up (as it should be). But here with the Chinese one you will be looking at the SD / MicroSD memory card pins facing up when inserting (it's not ideal imo and less professional).

Inversed SD / MicroSD sockets for the win!! :quartet:

have you tested dbz budokai tenkaichi 3? im looking to buy a microsd card and im thinking either a kingston or kioxia

Hi bro, i have some Kioxia (part of Toshiba) i was getting (write speeds) of 10MB/s to 12MB/s, which is not bad. However, i highly recommend getting the Toshiba Exceria memory cards, i was getting a rock solid 14.5MB/s write speed every time, which is fast for a Class 10 MicroSD card.

As TnA mentioned before, they are a little more expensive but worth it.

Yep "Toshiba Exceria" - just be careful who / where you buy it from, because there are some chinese clones / fakes out there, and those only write at like 2.5MB/s - 4MB/s (which is more like a Class 4 card in disguise) i had to get a refund on one of these recently. But it was obvious to look at it was a fake, the Toshiba Logo was blurred and wrong font ;)

Hello, I got my FMCB Memory Card and MC2SIO from Helder's Game Tech (thank you AngryHelder!), got a Toshiba Exceria 128GB microSD and formatted it to FAT32 with 32k cluster size and put my PS2 ISOs on the SD card. I plugged in FMCB to memory card slot 1 and MC2SIO to slot 2. Upon powering on, Free McBoot starts with no problems and I can move around the menu and select options. However, as soon as I launch OPL, my PS2 controller stops working. I can unplug it and replug it in, and the analog light will come on again but it still won't work; no directional inputs or button presses will register. I have tried this with both an official Sony SD2 (that came with the console; I'm the original owner and purchased new) and with an official Sony PS1 DS1 controller; same results. My PS2 model is SCPH-77001. My PS2 and controllers work fine with original discs. Any advice?? :confused3:

Sound like you have OPL 1627 BDM1-Testbuild (FAT only or maybe including 70k), instead of OPL 1629 BDM3.

You will know, if you connect a DS3/DS4 and it works...

Get "BDM3" from the last post on page 15! ;)
