I don't know how I found it but I read this old article from Kotaku that a NBA Jam mod for our beloved PS3 was released last year, so that's why I needed to share here. The article talks about one of the two mod flavors which were released by johnz1 at NLSC forum:

I don't recomemmend anyone here trying to play these online in PSN. It shouldn't be safe, avoid bans!
