ok. captain kirk here: the enterprise is in.. trouble... we need to get the PSID and the IDPS off the umh SonyPS3 Artifact. It is essential. Really. We did the PS3HEN thing and the egg was laid and also the multiman thing worked after a heavy firefight... so now:
all we need to accomplish is how to get "cobra8.3" installed ?? is that even necessary ?? to finally get to read the PSID and the IDPS.

! we are aware that ps3xploit website was disabled. therefore the ... bgtools are not available.
just to emphasize this, the PSID and the IDPS extraction is the main mission. how does one extract it with the "egg" ? ;-)

tl/dr; Ps3HEN installed, Multiman installed - PSID and IDPS all i am looking for (after hours and hours)

oh and i am not asking because of monetary reasons, but i just want to transfer my ps3 stuff over to the ps3 emulator. just to make this perfectly clear.

hen does not need cobra (or mamba!). it does what they do itself. webma can tell you, i think you open the settings and click on the temps near the top. them the numbers will be at the bottom of the screen after you click on a box with an arrow pointing down in it.

you probably do not need the idps/psid unless you want to use them on a different console that is banned. saves can be resigned and games reactivated directly on ps3 now. what are you trying to do exactly?

thanks for moving this to a better place, sorry for spamming the other thread.
so, what i want to do is:
- i have tons of PSN content (digital installs, no dvd/bluray) on my fat ps3, and accidentally i have updated to 4.88
- there seems to be a ps3 emulator now, which is something that i was really looking forward to, since i have alot of systems emulated and archived - also i am really afraid of the day when sony just decides to no longer support ps3 on PSN because bogus reason xyz (i guess, they will say it is for security reasons and it is all the evil haxxors fault!!111eleven)
- i have read that, using ps3xport i could even extract the content from my ps3 backup that is in the enctrypted part of the backup
- to achieve this, i understood that idps/psid is required for the archive decryption
- the easiest way i have seen yet to get to reading idps/psid was in my eyes through using cobra

if you say webma -- you mean webman? can do the same (ID extraction) and can be used within HEN, that would be great.

thanks for everybody's hard work on these tools!

yes but that is the old way. you can use FTP or a USB device to transfer files - even whole games.

webman has FTP running at all times in the background. multiman has a file manager but irisman can read more formats (besides just fat32).

thank you very much for your patience. i think i got it now. my approach was wrong because i was too focused on the CFW thing. i sort of underestimated the PS3HEN+webMAN/multiMAN/irisMAN option, which really seems the way to go.
