PS3 Need help with game dump

I recently bought Bioshock: Infinite [The Complete Edition] (Title ID: BLUS31497) from a second-hand store, and just like with all my games, I want to create a disc dump for backup purposes. I have successfully dumped almost 50 other games that I own using my PC with no issues at all other than some slow read issues on a few of them (I'm using PS3 Disc Dumper v4.0.7 downloaded from a github link posted on the rpcs3.net quickstart page).

aldostools has only the following 4 versions listed (all of which just say "Bioshock Infinite", with no mention of edition)...I'm not able to locate a file for BLUS31497:

BLUS31177
BLUS30629
BLES01705
BLUS30629

I do not have a CFW PS3 available to perform the other method listed on wiki.rpcs3.net; is there any other way to get a working file for this disc so I can complete the disc dump?

do you have any ps3 console? if you do (but it can not run CFW), use HEN and multiman to rip to decrypted ISO.

I do have access to one, but it does not belong to me, and the owner does not want to mod it.

Is there any other way that doesn't involve modding?

redump may help. i think you are talking about the disc key. it is listed HERE.

if you are looking for the ird file, i do not know if redump has it or not (or where else to try).

Sorry, not really sure what all is what...I'm still really new to this and I'm building up my knowledge still. I just know that for all the other games I dumped using PS3 Disc Dumper, it created at least 2 files, and they always end in .ird. There are no .sha1, .md5, .sfv, or .key files generated or downloaded, like the ones on redump. For example, on the version of Unreal Tournament III that I bought, when I dumped that disc it downloaded the following 2 files to my PC before I could start the dump process:

5D2C744E_64940FE7_DA8CA4F5_5FFE39D4.ird
BLUS30086-3F39EF2A4B1552C06BC788BB3C3EAA98.ird

Some of the games downloaded multiple files; my copy of Gran Turismo 5 downloaded all of these (also all ending in .ird):

00DCF6DF_17A93BC0_63C029F1_8E53A146.ird
00DCF6DF_356400AF_63C029F1_8E53A146.ird
00DCF6DF_B07EFEE9_63C029F1_8E53A146.ird
3F924B0E_1DEF2815_1FD033D5_9740C051.ird
BCUS98114-07248EB36A1D9D2342968ABF890F23D1.ird
BCUS98114-0590431A95510A537567CE43EEFD1BB0.ird
BCUS98114-9148149049CA3C29A03A83D340EDFFAE.ird
D1E40059_35970DDE_EDE1D599_9CE21750.ird

For every game I own and have dumped (except Bioshock: Infinite), once completed, the PS3 Disc Dumper app gives me a confirmation that says:

Files are decrypted and copied
Files match a verified copy

Then it also lists the "Game Title", "Product Code", "Dump Size", and the "Disc Key" file name (not the BLUSxxxxx & all that, but the one that starts with like "5D2C7xxxxxxx", etc.).

But then the error screen after trying to dump BS:Inf said:

Dump is not valid
2 invalid files

However, the game does play just fine when I load it into the PS3, at least to load the game up, anyway...I haven't played it through yet.

For now, I'll probably mostly play these on my PC via emulation, but I'd also like to get a PS3 of my own at some point to mod it and be able to play these backups directly off the hard drive/SSD, so I'm not having to swap the discs in/out and risk them getting damaged...not to mention, reducing load times & all that. But that will have to wait a while until I've taken care of some other financial responsibilities, as well as done more research into the whole PS3 modding process, and what to look out for when I'm ready to buy one.

So are those .ird files all I need to have a working backup copy, or do I also need those .sha1/.md5/.sfv/.key files or something?

there should be an .iso file also. it is the backedup disc image. it is all you need to play on real ps3.

the .ird file helps programs like the disc dumper to be sure that the image is not missing any needed files. the .key file is the disc key. it is used to decrypt the disc when making the .iso file. the others are checksums.

This PS3 Disc Dumper outputs 2 folders and 1 file into the output directory:

Folders:
PS3_GAME
PS3_UPDATE

File:
PS3_DISC.SFB

Which I'm assuming is just what is normally included in the .ISO file, but it's not outputting the disc dump directly into ISO format. Not too worried about that bit, though, I can just create an ISO from that myself if I need to.

sorry, i thought it ripped directly to iso file. the PS3_GAME folder and PS_DISC.SFB file are both needed to convert to iso. the PS3_UPDATE folder contains a firmware update .pup file. some people remove it (or use and empty pup file) to avoid installing it by accident.

the .ird and other files i mentioned are not needed to play the game. they are used to verify that it was ripped/dumped correctly.

OK, awesome, that's good info, especially the PS3_UPDATE thing...I'll be deleting those files for sure. Once I do that and then convert the folders to an ISO, then it's ready to play at that point?

I saw some info in various places about having to decrypt the ISO after dumping, but I'm pretty sure the dumping program already did that part prior to it copying the files onto my PC.

Thanks for the assistance, it's starting to make sense now.

Someone happen to have this IRD? I could use one for the BLUS31497 version of Bioshock, which happens to be the Complete Edition / Version

Thanks. I searched in most of the IRD databases but couldn't find it. However, I noticed that that BLUS30629 Game Version 2.0 have the same files count: 6129. I am not sure what or how I confused version but I was able to check the ISO health with said IRD instead of the one I was looking for. Hope someone could clarify if the box states a version but the ingame is yet another one, as it happens with Killzone Trilogy in BCUS version.

I dunno. strange that they wouldn't have been dumped. neither game isn't exactly obscure.
