Need help with OPL 0.8

Hello, i recently got a Ps2 with an freemcboot opl 0.8 childproof memory card, whenever i try to load a game it just goes to a black screen, i have tried simpsons hit and run and bully, i have been trying modes and tried modes 1,2,3 and 6 all of them together, after hours i didnt manage to get anywhere except launching simpsons hit and run once and it was with all modes turned on, it launched but wasnt registering my controller, when i tried to relaunch (same settings) black screen again. would really appreciate some help, thanks.

also i should add, i tried the ISO files with PCSX2 and they loaded fine

The software you are using sounds extremely outdated.

I would update to the latest stable beta v1.2 2049:

When you boot the card, what version does FMCB say on the top right of the PS2 Home Screen?
