PS3 Noob question about discs in CFW

I have recently purchased 5 physical discs from a reliable source and would like to make backups in my PS3 slim.

When I put any of the said disc inside the tray, a blue light indicator located slightly on top of the eject button would power up and the ps3 would take the disc. Then I would see the clock on the upper right hand side of the screen rotating like it's trying to read the disc but nothing happens. The ps3 would then make a sound like it's trying to make the disc work, this would happen twice but ultimately nothing happens.

I have recently updated this console on evilnat 4.88 and apparently cobra is also running.

My question is, would there by something within the cfw that would prevent the ps3 from reading discs? I searched online and saw some threads stating try to disable cobra but that would defeat the purpose of installing the cfw to begin with since I want to back the games up into the internal hard drive.

Would this be an indicator of a dying lens?

So the disc icon and the game won't show up is what you're saying? If so, Try cleaning off the discs and try them again.

Hello Atreyu, I actually have no other disc. This ps3 was a hand me down from my cousin which had games on it before I even got it.

I wanted to start my own library and got a decent price off of these 5 physical games. I thought the price were a steal for around 30 bucks. I can take a video for sure but idk how to upload it here lol

Yes, the disc icon is not showing up but I see the image of the clock on the upper right hand rotating. I have also tried cleaning the discs, but nothing happens. So I'm thinking, maybe something in the cfw settings is preventing the ps3 from either showing the game icon or the lens may be busted. Is there a configuration inside the settings that I can try? Hi @FFSR-CC. Did you install WebMAN MOD or MultiMAN and try out to load an ISO?, just to check if everything works on the software side.
