Noob with a PS3 Slim CECH-2504A

Hi guys, i just signed up.

So first of all the PS3 i own:
Serial: CECH-2504A
Date Code: 1A
Current FW: 4.82 OFW
Minimum version: 3.56 (checked with miniver PUP)

Im new into this PS3 jailbreaking thing and i readed through the Ps3xploit tutorials but i kinda got confused.

So my question is:
Is there any up-to-date "noob-friendly" tutorial to install cfw on my console?

Ok after getting cfw, can i play online on the backup ill use without getting banned? I dont plan to mod or cheat in any game.

There's always a risk of getting banned with CFW.

If you want to play online, better stick with OFW.

So there is no way to show my system as a ofw system although being on cfw? Because when i was playing on ofw i always saw these kids modding around which shouldnt be possible without cfw

There are ways to remedy a ban, iirc. Never went online myself using cfw, so I'm not that qualified to give advise. Hence why I preach to stay offline on cfw.

I do know that no matter what you do, there's always a risk of getting banned, as we do not know exactly what Sony is checking.

Hmm, okay ill rethink getting cfw then. Since the online feature is very important for me.

I do have a ps4 but i wanted to try out some old titles on the ps3 anyways ll just stick to ofw then, i cant afford another ps3 for now xD

Yes, you can play PS3 CFW to online games. But first you have to load of a game is successfully then make sure use webMAN MOD in VSH Menu disable CFW syscall & clear history complete then go to PSN login, Sony will see your PSN if are running on OFW mode. Sony never bans you. Have fun, but if you want to play modding. You need to use anti-ban and anti-report/cheats from people clear it.

Ur post gave me some kind of hope. I will wait for some other opinions and then maybe give it a try.
If i understood it correctly i can just go back to ofw by installing the 4.82 ofw through settings?

I do respect your opinion, but have to disagree.
There is always the risk of getting banned on CFW, as there's no 100% foolproof way to avoid it. Even if you use homebrews and/or settings to cloak your CFW, the risk is still present.

There's always the option of dual boot, but that requires a E3 flasher and soldering skills.

I would never tell anyone it's 100% safe to go online using a CFW console, as there is no way of guaranteeing he won't get banned.

No, it won't brick your console. But you can't play online anymore.

Anyway look up psn patch and install the plugin. I even played gta5 online on cfw (one of the games with higher risks on getting banned).
Psn patch plugin is quite easy to use and does pretty much all that's possible to hide cfw. You need to mount the backup before disabling cfw.

anyway the worst case scenario is that your console & your psn account gets banned, so you should use a new psn account or an account that doesn't matter too much for you (never the same as on your ps4 ).

Actually im turkish but i was born in germany, so i speak both languages nativly^^

2. Writing NOR
3. Installing CFW

However i dont understand what this dumping is. What does it exactly do?

Basically it extracts the information on you NOR chip, Wich you then, once verified as good, can use in case of a brick (full/partial). This of course requires a hardware flasher.
