PS3 HAN [OBSOLETE] [Tutorial] The Great PS3Xploit 3.0 HAN All In One Guide

@Fin9ersMcGee : can I make a suggestion ? A new tab/Section E in your "Part 1 - PS3Xploit Installation" about "updating HAN". A new user (can't remind who) registered yesterday to warn us about a possible mistake : when you want to update HAN with the new han_support.zip files, DO NOT enable HAN before installing the new files - otherwise you will have to install OFW from scratch and loose everything. Sorry, I can't find his post anymore.

Nice thread BTW.

I will update my guide today with this information

So I need to create another account for c00 games right?

You need to create a secondary user/PSN account for ALL HAN activity.
Whether thats PS1 backups or ps2 or psp or c00 or ANYTHING!

You will have 2 user accounts on your PS3, one is logged into you main account (used for your legitimate PSN usage) and the other is logged into your secondary account (Used for HAN, backups etc)

Hi, i need help with PS2 games, i converted Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 and when i boot it, it boots but then the screen turns to black, the dualshock turns off and the ps3 stops recognizing it, also the TV just puts "no signal"

I put game first, then placeholder and at last Rap file, i transfered it over PKG Linker and tried both EUR and USA version.

This hasn't happened to me i'm afraid...
When i boot a PS2 game, i get a black screen for s short period of time and my TV also goes into a "no signal" situation. The controller turns off and fails to sync.
But, if i leave it, the game fires up fine and controller reconnects.

LAN Transfer guide now available. Transfer those large PKGs!!!
Nice work man, This was really needed, couple of tiny things:

With the PKG Linker, the package_link.xml is only for people who use Packager manager and want to run it from USB, if you have han toolbox installed then you can use the package_list.pkg

Its better to use the package_list.pkg and HAN toolbox imo as it runs from hdd, and has icons included on hdd. if you use the package list xml then the icons load off the server and the USB device must be kept in.

Note: in certain versions of the HAN installer files, support got added for package_list.pkg in package manager too, but it causes duplication of the list if han toolbox is installed too, so it has been removed again, so if you don't use HAN Toolbox, use the xml on USB, if you do use HAN Toolbox use the pkg, but you don't need both.

Also for the refresh package list option on XMB, can you add that users should reboot to see there changes on the XMB after using that option. As the xml wont get reloaded otherwise.

Keep up the good work :)

I noticed this when I was playing with PKG Linker and HAN Toolbox.
I wrote that section of the guide based on what worked for me.
When I installed for PKG Linker for the first time, my VPN was running and messed up the IP address, once I found the problem and continued to re-install the repacked pkg with correct IP, HAN Toolbox didn't update the list, nor would it even connect....
I will try your suggestions and re-edit the guide accordingly

I am currently working on DLC installation.
It is my understanding that you just acquire the DLC for you game (with matching region), sign with PKG Resigner and install with HAN enabled, along with your game PKG...
Problem is most of the games i have installed so far dont seem to have any DLC.... So I'm trying to download another game to test from the internet (I own the disk game, but I dont have a Bluray drive in my PC to rip the game)
My internet is not the speediest :(

Second account isn't needed for game usage, just for activation like reactpsn
You can play npdrm backups online as well on primary account ;)

Ok, just so i know...
Secondary PSN account is for activating your PS3 only...?
Main account can run HAN and play backups etc?

All the installed games are logged in the act.dat and add to your account ? They appear to be bought and you can redownload them from PS Store ? If that is the case , i expect some console bans

The PS Store checks your purchases server-side, while the PS3 relies on the rif file that is supposed to be signed with your act.dat while you download it from PSN, which means that it's basically client side.

No, you are downloading a "demo" version from PSN (by demo i mean the full game, but with restrictions)
Then, the game checks the RIF on your PS3 for "activation" and starts either demo or full game (Depending if your RIF is custom signed with your act.dat)

At least that's how I'm seeing it....

Actually it's not even a demo, just a locked game. If you try to open a PSN game without injecting the rif, you'll just get a license error unless it's a C00 one
