Rap can be needed for ps3 psn pkgs too and also psp psn pkgs

I haven't come by the need for a RAP when installing PS3 retail titles...
I do as my guide says and never needed to generate a RIF when i signed everything...

Is there a scenario where a RAP/RIF would be needed for PS3 titles?
Also, same question for PSP titles?

For PS2, if you followed my guide, the Universal PS2 RAP file we signed and installed is the only RIF you need to install.
Once you have installed this RIF, all future PS2 game installs will use this RIF.

PS3, my guide doesn't call for a RIF file.... I'm trying to work out if one is needed for other games (I've only tested 1 game, Marvel vs Capcom 3)

I am unsure... Possible this title is not compatible.

There is a CFW2OFW compatibility list here: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/CFW2OFW_Compatibility_List
But your title is not on this list...

I am unsure if this is possible... I think its because this exploit relies on a webkit exploit, so the PS3 browser must load the exploit for it to work...?

You have a BLU RAY convert to PSN style with UPDATES=you don't need rap file

You have LEGIT PSN style pkg(it doesn't require UPDATES)=you need rap

The difference between two is that first is a blu Ray rip and the second is psn store rip

Naturally psn store pkgs have 100% success rate because it's officially npdrm style game. In these rips you don't need any game update

For a psn game, not demo, you need rap file and resign the pkg

1.obtain rap and game pkg
2.resign pkg with my tool
3.get rif pkg from rifgen-master/
4:enable han
5:install rif pkg on secondary user, install game pkg on whatever user
6:play content

No, it is a list of compatible and incompatible games.
Green is compatible,
Red is incompatible.

As suggested earlier, your game may not have ever received an update. If there is no update, then your game will not work

Edit: This applies to Ps3 retail games that came from a Blu Ray disk. If your game is a PSN game, I am researching for a new part to my guide explaining this better, but you don't need an update if it is PSN game...
