Ah yeah, I got the files ready through the newer version now. I noticed though that while the output PKG is named after the game, the RAP file turns into a generic name. Does it need to have that name? Can I do multiple rap files individually, rename the PKG and install each one on a single USB? Or do I need to install the Rap before doing any other games?

if you are doing multiple games i suggest making a "packages" folder on your usb; resign one game; put the pkgs in your packages folder; then repeat over with the other games but rename the "pkg_rif-installer.pkg_signed.pkg" to some thing different each time (what i would do is pkg_rif-nstaller1.pkg_signed.pkg then 2 then 3 and so on) as they all have the same name.

Next head over your ps3; enable han, put your usb in the right slot, then go into package manger - install package files - package directory and install all the game pkg files files first and once you finished that install all the pkg_rif files 2nd.
done!

EDIT: nvm you can put multiple raps on the rap folder I didn't try t so I didn't know :)

You can load up the raps folder with any amount you like. Then it will convert them all into a single pkg.

As for the correct order, I'm not certain. I've always done the raps after the game. But haven't tested the other way round..

File names don't matter for the output pkgs

Ah, putting them all into a single PKG would be helpful. Thanks for that.
Last question then, is there a way to use PKGLink directly between systems without a router in the middle? My ISP supplied one is godawful, the speeds drop massively midway through and eventually it fails entirely every time. Would the process be the same if I just directly connected my PC to my PS3 through ethernet?

edit: Well it seemed to work through direct connection, but at times the connection still absolutely spikes, the estimated time jumps all the way to the tens of thousands, and eventually fails if it happens enough. I get the error code 80023324, any tips?

No.

Not sure what you mean.
If you process each rap with the resigner, it will convert it to a rif file & make a small pkg for its installation.
You can use the batch files to automate this process if you have several raps to convert.
You can rename those "rif" pkg files as you wish & place as many as you want on a USB key for installation.

Hello, I'm kind of new at this but I've installed a good amount of games (both ps3 and ps2) without problems so far using the CFW2OFW compatibility list but only the ones that don't have trouble with them,my question is, I want to install games like Catherine and Far Cry 3, which require to install Game Data before DTU, how do I do that? Do I need to have a physical copy of the game?

Some say it needs the data from disc, others don't so I don't really understand

I play in my main account with the open PSN account and activating have enabled to play digital games without problems and only have active for those games since in the games created of backups I do not need it
Seriously? Though well, if it is true that already realizing this, I am exposed to any prohibition on behalf of Sony but this gives me mas safety certainly. Proven bundle using DLC + Online?

For some reason there is no rifgen-master folder in the PS3xploit-resigner-master tool? As well as no "ps3xploit_rifgen_edatresign.exe" to drop my pkg onto ???? what am I supposed to do here???? Also when enabling HAN, should I do it through the web browser or the HAN toolbox?

Are you using PS3xploit-resigner-2.0.0 ? try to download it from other source, and about Han use Han Toolbox is better and easier

What does the debug package enabler do? As far as I understand if I enable it, than I don't have to resign any packages that I want to install just simply copy to USB or with PKGLinker than install?

The Debug package Enabler allows you to install from USB or pkg linker the debug pkg files produced with standard pkg tools but you cannot install pkg files made with the ps3xploit resigner.
It's a good method to use for CFW2OFW compatible games using lic.dat files however Han Enabler remains the most ubiquitous way to install pkg files.

Can someone help me understand what the heck I'm doing lol, I'm trying to install ghosts. I did the workaround and used ps3gameconverter. I now have a signed eboot file. How do I get the pkg file and what do I do after getting this? I'm so confused, I've searched this forum and can't really find much help..I tried creating the pkg with cfw2ofw but it just tells me to do exclusive method and then to copy the files from that method to my ofw ps3. So I'm not sure where to go, there is no pkg file or anything.. Ughhh

You didn't find much help in the forum? You are kidding right?
If you took the time to read this thread's OP, you would find that the whole process of game conversion & installation for HAN is described there in detail.
Part 4 - Converting and Installing Backups!
Part 4.A - PS1 Games
Part 4.B - PS2 Games
Part 4.C - PSP Games
Part 4.D - PSP Minis

Part 5 - All Things PS3! An Introduction Into PS3 Titles
Part 5.A - BluRay Games
Part 5.B - PSN Games
Part 5.C - c00 Games
Also I suggest you avoid using old tutorials that were made before HAN was released, it will only confuse you.

I read the thread. Top to bottom, this game I'm installing is different then a normal game. It requires a workaround to get it to work on ofw. I did this workaround and went to make a pkg file with the files but it says too copy the files to the ps3. What am I missing?

What kind of workaround are we talking about? Please detail as much as possible.
What's the game full title again?

used this workaround for call of Duty ghosts.. The forum is full of awesome information.. But maybe I'm looking In the wrong places.. I'm really new to this and only made this account and started doing this yesterday. There is no pkg file or rap file and I'm just so confused! Thanks for the help though! I have a feeling I didn't even need to do this or I didn't do it correctly. I see that it's requiring a cfw ps3. I just wanted cod ghosts, reason I got the HAN installed and stuff..
  1. Create BLUS31270 folder and copy/paste USRDIR from Game - Call of Duty Ghosts [BLUS31270] - set this aside for now.
  2. Convert the Game - Call of Duty Ghosts [BLUS31270] & Update using PS3GameConvert_v0.9
  3. When conversion is complete you should now have NPUB31270. Go to NPUB31270/USRDIR and delete everything EXCEPT eboot.bin
  4. When conversion is complete you should now ALSO have BLUS31270. Copy all folder contents of BLUS31270 (converted) into the BLUS31270 (from step 1) and replace/overwrite all when asked.
  5. Copy BLUS31270 (from step 1) and NPUB31270 into your CFW PS3, DTU to OFW PS3 and it should work.

This is an old tutorial for backup injection using the Data Transfer Utility. It's basically obsolete now.

You can use any pkg tool to create a pkg to install your files on the PS3.
Here it looks like you need to install 2 directories, one BLUSxxxxx & one NPUBxxxxx.
If you install ps3tools by aldostools on your PC, you can right click on any folder tree to create a pkg. Create one pkg for each directory you prepared. Alternatively you can use TrueAncestor PKG tool to create your pkg files.

When the pkg are ready, install HAN files from **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new), reboot ps3, use the pkg linker (pc app) to transfer your pkg files to the ps3, launch the Debug Pkg Enabler exploit from **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) & finally use the Package Manager on XMB to install the pkg files.

Edit: please avoid making multiple postings for the same thing in the future. Posting in one thread is enough, you won't get any more or any faster replies.

Originally when I first downloaded the game I only had the BLUS directory, plus the update I downloaded in pkg form. I need both BLUS and NPUB I'm guessing? And what about this so called RAP file? Is it not needed? And yes I have HAN installed plus all these tools you mentioned on my pc. I'm creating the pkg files, but the app that does this is hanging, is this normal?
