PS3 HAN [OBSOLETE] [Tutorial] The Great PS3Xploit 3.0 HAN All In One Guide

Originally when I first downloaded the game I only had the BLUS directory, plus the update I downloaded in pkg form. I need both BLUS and NPUB I'm guessing? And what about this so called RAP file? Is it not needed?

What that user is talking about is the PSN version of the game which requires no conversion. The rap file is a game license file which is also needed to complete the HAN resigning process. Like I said before, you are using old & obsolete stuff. Using the ps3xploit resigner to prepare a PSN pkg with rap file is described in detail in the OP.

However if it is not a backup of a game you own, downloading the PSN version + rap is piracy & you won't get help with that.

As to the BD game conversion, the instructions are clear.
1. Extract the game USRDIR directory from BD disc & place it in a folder called BLUSxxxxx. Put the folder aside for step 4.
2. Start the game conversion process, it should create 2 directories, a BLUS & NPUB.
3. Delete all files from NPUB except eboot.bin
4. Copy files from the conversion created BLUS folder to the BLUS folder you set aside in step 1.
5. Make your pkg files

Well I'm lost again, I wanted to play this game online, and you're saying it does require a conversion? I guess im sh*t out of luck on getting this to work because Yes I did download this game from the internet..

You are not out of luck at all, you simply misunderstood.
There are 2 versions of the same game, one released on BD disc & the other sold on PSN as PSN pkg.

The BD disc version requires you to process the files as described, the PSN version doesn't, it only needs to be resigned with the ps3xploit resigner.

Both versions can easily be installed as long as you understand the process.

OK so from what I understand I have the BD version if I was able to do the fix thing and get the two folders. Where I'm confused is, do I need a rap file for this? Or should I just keep making the pkg files as noted above and follow the directions you've already given to me. I hate being so ignorant on this subject, but I do greatly appreciate all the help you've already given to me.

No need for rap with the BD conversion above afaik, rap is needed for the PSN version. Usually BD games converted with CFW2OFW use lic.dat licenses.

I wouldn't let me convert this game with cfw2ofw it physically told me to do what I mentioned above for the BD disk. Are you saying I should somehow go through the the cfw2ofw for this? But it did give me the option to go ahead anyway.? EDIT, I noticed to use the cfw2ofw you need the "game folder" this conversion for BD disk gets rid of that folder I'm I'm guessing it's safe to assume I'm on the right track with creating the two pkg files and going from there. ALSO are we able to give donations here to users? Similar to xdaforums?

No I didn't say that, I was only opposing BD conversion with lic.dat vs PSN game resigning using rap files.
This particular game is not CFW2OFW compatible but the majority of BD games are.

Donations are not a big thing here.
Most devs operating in this forum pride themselves in taking no money for their work, even when they would need/deserve it. The forum itself is run on the admin private money with no ad revenue or other bs!

I see, well one last thing, am I gonna mess something up on my ps3 if I go about installing these pkgs that I'm making? Also at the end of the first pkg it says "raw data is not protected by DRM please use NPDRM EDATA if you need to protect" is this gonna make me get banned or something on my console?... EDIT when I go to make the NPUB into a pkg it says category in PARAM. SFO must be HG or GD.? When I select okay it wants me to choose a pkg file... This seems never ending. Nothing I read mentioned any of this. Or I just don't remember reading this stuff. I do remember editing the PARAM file for the ps1 game but seen nothing regarding ps3

Hello, just a question, I have a pkg file of Far Cry 4 but not the rap file.
I downloaded it from the ***PlayStation Store*** database and it says that to unlock the full game you need ReactPsn, and as far as I know, that's a CFW tool, wich is not compatible with my OFW.
With the rap file I can just resign it and make it a rif, but without the rap file, there is a metod to make it?
If that's not posible, there is another method to get that game for an OFW type system?
Also, thank you so much for your amzing tool, so far I have Dark Soul 2 and Darksiders 2 with ALL the DLC's.
Thank you.
PD: Sorry for my bad english, not my first language :D

1. You cannot mess up your ps3 with this. At worst you reinstall the firmware to remove any changes made to the system files. Installed games don't matter much really.
2. Chances to get banned using HAN/CFW2OFW are close to 0, if not 0.. for now anyway.
3. Setting the Param.sfo data is a standard requirement for any pkg you make. It should be set to HG for games running from hdd.
4. You are trying to install a particular game through a conversion process that requires knowledge you do not have. You have to spend time discovering all the tools & requirements.
The majority of game titles are painless to install. For instance, if you were trying to install the same game title using the PSN version, it would most likely be done by now by simplement following the standard instructions in OP.

I opened the param file in the param editor inside the ps3tools program on my pc. I wasn't able to find anything to edit? I did a few Google searches but only found things about splitting pkgs. Is there another program I need?

1. No other methods to produce a rif file, you must have the rap for the ps3xploit resigner to produce the necessary rif file.
In truth, if you bought the game you would have the rap. ;)
2. As Far Cry 4 BD Disc retail version is compatible with CFW2OFW although it requires you to delete "patch_sound_english.dat" in the patch folder before creating the pkg, you should have no need for a rap file.
3. Not sure where you got the reactpsn instructions from but they are not for HAN usage.

In param sfo editor, there is a combo box that allows you to choose the game type, in your case HG.

LOL.. I didn't know I could click that. And... I made a pkg and It had the same name as my first one so it overewrote the first pkg that took my pc at least 45 mins to make... LOL. Is it supposed to be the exact same name?

Pkg names don't matter, you can rename them as you see fit.

However normally the game id should be used in the pkg name... One should have BLUSxxxxx & the other NPUBxxxxx in that long name.. Iirc the id gets lifted from param.sfo, are you using the same param.sfo for both pkg?
I have never installed this game via that hacky setup so am not 100% sure but I would assume in theory that each param.sfo should reflect the game id (ie folder name) of the packaged files, a param.sfo with BLUSXXXXX in one pkg installing the BLUS folder & the other with NPUBXXXXX installing the NPUB folder.

I thought this same thing. The NPUB is basically a converted BLUS but I'm definitely using the peram from the NPUB. I followed everything exactly how it was written as well, triple checked. They are different sizes as well so idk..when I select the PERAM file from the NPUB it shows the title ID as BLUS. you think this is an issue?

Hello guy! I need to know if is possible install a genunie .pkg. In this tutorial we learn to create a pkg (ps2,psp,psx) from a .iso. But... and a genuine.pkg? I tried install a psx game like a ps3 game, installing both .rap and .pk, but don't works.

I assume that by genuine pkg you mean PSN pkg. If so, you need to follow the instructions given in OP.
It's pretty simple actually.
1. Install HAN on ps3.
2. Extract act.dat & idps using ps3xploit tool.
3. You need to get the rap file for your PSN pkg if you don't already have it.
4. Use the act.dat, idps.hex & xxxx.rap file to resign the pkg with ps3xploit resigner.
It will output 2 pkg to install, one with your game & the other with the rif license file. Place them on fat32 USB if under 4Gb otherwise use the pkg linker to transfer the files.
5. Use the HAN Enabler tool
6. Install the 2 pkg from the Package Manager.
Voilà....

Try as is & if ever it's a problem, you can simply edit the param.sfo & change the gameid.

I know about this, thanks anyway. But my question is about genuine ps1,ps2,psp .pkg. I install some ps1, and ps2 games. But I create the .pkg fom a .iso game. I want install .pkg from ps one classics, for example. I tried, but game don't start. I made the same process like a native ps3 .pkg game, but don't works.
