PS2 [Open PS2 Loader] Game Bug Reports

Oh you mean HDD? I don't know about that one, it takes a while for me too and I don't even have many games.

I think it isn't reading the cache file/games.bin, at first I didn't thought about it 'cause if it's reading all games partitions, 19/20 secs. is actually pretty fast.
I seems to remember it happened since the first OPL 1.2.0 version I tried (I think it was the very first 1.2.0). Perhaps it has something to do with the settings.cfg not being interchangeable with older OPLs anymore? Since many options are added/changed (like the show debug colors that have been inverted, so it behave the other way around on newer builds, keeping the same setting).
The weird thing is that OPL 1.2.0 seems to correctly read it (I correctly get cache game list: ON in settings).

I didn't had time yet, I'd like to do some more tests (like putting OPL 1.2.0 on MC, having the settings where OPL is, creating all the settings from scratch and so on).

Oh yeah there's definitely bugs in the settings. It's best to delete them files and start over.

I checked The Bouncer SLUS_200.69 with your same OPL version from SMB. It works perfectly (also VMC and IGR). Most probably also Armore Core Nexus works, I'm pretty sure the problem is on your end. Check the game's MD5 if they're good rip.

You have other games that work? Otherwise if none of the ones you tried started, pehaps the problem is on your SMB setup.

I am trying to play on OPL 1.2 HDLoader the following games but they don't work.
Perhaps you found a way ?
Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3 (crash at OPL menu)
HSX Hyper Sonic Extreme (black screen)
Downforce (cannot pass loading screen)
State of emergency can't pass load screen , tried mode 6 & 3)
Wakeboarding Unleashed featuring Shaun Murray (Black screen)
Victorious boxers 2 (crash at start)
Police 247 (black screen )
Critical velocity (black screen)

EDIT: Sorry I am using OpL 1,2 not HD Loader

Notes = This game that will not work on any version of OPL (including the newer OPL versions) through USB, and it does not work even on the newest betas.
It will boot and get to the license information screen, but once it leaves that it seems to get stuck in an infinite loop.

Back when I was using a USB that would flash (LED) as data was being read or wrote, the game is constantly trying to read something because the after the license screen the flash drive LED would would stay red as if it was trying to read non-stop.

My personal speculation is that it has something to do with the CRI Sofdec videos.
Maybe some kind of USB authentication check

SVR 2007 (USA) has a similar issue but there is a code at gamehacking.org for version 2.01 that swaps video (.SFD) file names and allows the game to be played. Normally it has the same issue as SVR 2008 but with the code used it is playable.

Does OPL check or patch out certain USB drivers from certain games? I have tried making codes to bypass the videos but I got nowhere with it.

Oddly enough, and there is where it gets interesting:
I went though the setup on pcsx2 with OPL a few years ago using the third-party plugin that emulates USB mass storage and got it working on OPL through pcsx2+OPL+USB emulation. So my point is that it *could* be a hardware issue as well.
I have also tried it on PS2ESDL and USBAdvance and it will not work with them either.

Edit. I made a workaround using pcsx2 1.6.0 and Cheat Engine 7.2. It took me a while as I have tried before but this time I found something that works.

Press Start once you hear the logo music playing.

FMV's Disabled 00 off/02 on
2037C0D0 000000??
This code seems to tell if FMV's are enabled or disabled.
For testing.
