Try enabling mode 4Is anyone who has Football Kingdom on their internal HDD able to run it without any problems? On USB and SMB it freezes at the beginning as soon as the initial fmv starts without the possibility of skipping it.
Alrrady tried, nothing works for this game, no version of OPL. You have to work on the original .bin and then on the converted ISO to remove the initial intro, if anyone is interested they can contact me. In any case, being a lover of complete games without video cuts, I was curious to know if this game worked on the internal HDD without problems, also to be able to make a complete report to the developers.Try enabling mode 4

This looks interesting, a game that stutters even on internal hdd. Thanks for taking the test!Just installed it on my HDD and then tried it.
As expected, the game didn't freeze on the intro FMV though the playback is stuttery, audio-wise (Probably caused by my 3rd party adapters).
Mode 2 somewhat helps it but still stuttery (or probably doesn't have any effect).
Mode 1 makes it freezes though made it a bit far than the USB/SMB (it froze at the "Namco presents").

I always thought there were no differences between the original adapter and the third-party one. Since to be able to use the original adapter you will still have to "transform it into third parties" by replacing the connector with the third party SATA one. I've never heard of stuttering problems on third party adapters, could it be a problem with the game or the HDD perhaps? It's probably my adapter (It's the 3rd party one which can be quite a gamble). Maybe it's better wait for someone with genuine adapter (with or without SATA adapter installed) to test this game and share their results here.

Is the game from your region? If it was my HDD then why other games plays FMVs just fine but not those?
But there's a chance it could be the games expecting a certain transfer rate speed as it does on disc.
Also there's another problem than just stutters
Crash Nitro Kart which I used to have installed would skips Aku-Aku/Uka-Uka dialogue before he even gets to talk in Story Mode (his head pops ups then gone before he even open his mouth).
And no compatibility or DMA modes even able to fix that though sometimes he was able to speak completely when you just entered the hub for the first time depending on the modes enabled but after that, nada.
Also, depending on what modes used/not used the music during races will become silent/not playing aside from the jingles during final lap.

If you're using NTSC as video signal output, there should be no issue.Well my console is Japanese (50000) and the game region is NTSC-U.
If you're using NTSC as video signal output, there should be no issue.
If you're converting from NTSC to PAL, there could be problems.
Same goes on converting from PAL to NTSC.
So, taking in consideration that the game's original framerate is the very same you're using as video output, then the issue could be reading speed or it might be another OPL issue. Try it in other media... maybe a slow one like USB. If the problem persists, then we can take the speed out of the equation and say it might be an actual OPL issue.
I have sometimes read reports that solved similar problems with an Ide Pata HDD, the high speed of a Sata HDD may cause problems with some games. I was almost convinced that OPL mode 1 solved these high speed problems, but not having a PS2 with internal HDD I'm not very knowledgeable about it.Just tried it on USB and FMV stutters aside, Aku-Aku/Uka-Uka dialogues don't skip and the music during races plays.
Without any modes enabled even.
So looks like it's one of those games that expects the same or lower transfer rate as it does on discs.
