No, it's more complicated than that. There are many spoken dialects, of which Cantonese and Mandarin are two of those. Mandarin became the official spoken language.
Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese are standardized written scripts, not bound to any dialect.

Currently Audio Settings options has been added into OPL.

I updated the english template with the new strings, and fulfilled all the rest
of languages with the english strings, except the spanish one which is completed.

The new strings are:

Audio Settings
Enable Sound Effects
Enable Boot Sound
Sound Effects Volume
Boot Sound Volume

I've tried to load it from HDD on OPL 1218, but with no success.

AFAIK, no. Only the font can (from +OPL).

lang_?.lng must be in mc?:/OPL, while font_?.ttf/.otf can be loaded either from +OPL, or from mc?:/OPL (if font is not found in +OPL, OPL search it in MC).

Attached is the Bulgarian translation (thanks to Jolek for reminding me ).
BTW, In HDTV 1080i HIRES mode, in the Parental Lock settings page, the hint for the password option is displayed starting from before the left screen border, effectively cutting its first word (in the English template). This is not observed with the hints of other options, but I didn't check much.

Yes, this is a known issue for various 'hint-texts' on some VModes.
